Sold/Expired Pre-payment for the HAIII black SF-III. ENDED!

Mike, I might be interested in a 10W 4 die Ostar LED.
Can you please tell me the difference in brightness and runtime to the underdriven 15W Ostar ?
I assume the beam will be the same...

Jochen

I'm curious about Mikes' answer, as I thought they would be the same, brightness and runtime, as both LEDs are driven in the same way.

On the other hand, I assumed the 15W would have a more floody beam than the SMT, because it uses 6 dies instead of 4...

I believe the 4 dies Ostars Mike is talking about are not the SMT type with its narrow beam.

I oversaw something, you're absolutely right!

Yeah, I would be interested in a warmer LED too! If it really isn't that tight as the SMT I think I'll change... above

Mike i really hope its not the last light you make!

Will have an update from my machinist soon.

Here is the evolution of the Osram 15 watt Ostar LED:

From left to right, oldest, old to newest. Light output has also been increased from the old.

This is the 10 watt version. From left to right, old and new. The new one on the right is the neutral white which is a PY in brightness. Just became obsolete.

And last we have the newest addition to the Ostar family which will be around a very long time. The Ostar SMT. This also is a 10 watt LED made in cool white only. For a 10 watter, its extremely bright. This LED was developed on a joint venture with 3M to be used in their LED projectors.

I should have some machining pictures soon.

Anyone interested in pre-paying for a Flood Master in HA III black? Price is $625.00. I can only make 3pcs in a standard grip. Post here or send me a PM. Here are the specs:

SSR-90 cool white LED (WN in brightness)
3 modes with memory: low=10%, medium=30% and high=100%
3.2 amp drive current in high
Modified Fraen flood reflector
Titanium scalloped bezel

Here are pictures of an SST-50 on the left which is the Flood Master and SST-90 version on the right which is the Flood Monster. These pictures were taken with the OD version SF-III to give you an idea how the lights would come out.

I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner but there will be a delay on delivery. The titanium bar stock supplier will receive stock of titanium at the end of March and TNC will receive it within a few days after. I've posted about this on the SF-III titanium thread. I should also have some pictures of the SF-III black bodies any day and will update again soon.

Sorry for the late update. I have been trying to update from Monday and every time I post and hit the submit button, I get a "Server is busy" or I loose everything I wrote 🙁 I have been having trouble with my PM's. I beleive these problems are with my computer and have been re-installing software. I hate computers...... They are a PITA..... I thought the installation would go smoothly but has taken several days. On top of this I have been shipping things out and trying to answer all e-mails. If my computer is still problematic, I plan to buy a new computer so please bare with me.

I have an update from TNC and may need to extend the delivery date by two weeks since he had an accident in his shop where he had to get knee surgery on Wednesday the 7th. He came back on the 12th this week and will only be at 80%. Next week he will be back at 100%.

Here are some photo updates on the black SF-III's.

Hey, I've seen mine on those pictures! :nana:

All the best to TNC. Working with such machines can be dangerous...

I could smell the metal shaving just by looking at that picture Mike.
those bare bodies are looking top notch.
Wish a speedy recovery for TNC!

Sorry, no new updates from TNC....... There used to be an icon where the guy was bangin his head on a brick wall. Can't find it but that's how I feel....

I'm sure you'll get the parts soon!

It's not that I don't care about these lights, no, no, no, I'm eagerly waiting for them, they should become the most powerfull lights of my collection, as I'm into the small ones... :twothumbs

From talking to TNC, the SF-III black's have come back from the anodizers but the tailcaps are missing. He was supposed to send pictures earlier this week but still haven't received anything. Hopefully I will get something any day🙁 Will keep you posted.
