CRKT 7190 Front flipper indent ( lock ? ) knife .
The knurling on the front flipper is so .................................. rough / sharp / coarse ............. It wore a hole in my finger after about 15 minutes of fidgeting !
Yeah ! That's a first for me .
Things to complain about ? ( Aside from the hole in my finger )
1) Factory edge was , horrendous
2) Knife was .......... Poorly assembled !
Due to the shape of the blade , it's not easy to ( Guided ) sharpen .
To fix all the issues ( Blade play in all directions )
Side to side play . There is a axle or hub that 2 screws attach to from each side to hold the blade .. This was a little too long .
After shortening it , I was able to remove the side to side play .
The up down play came from the lock up ( indents ) .
There are two indents , one from each side to hold the blade open .
Both are on the end of extensions from the liner ( like a liner lock ) .
To remove the up down play , they needed to be adjusted / bent / tweaked so as to hold the blade against the lock bar .
I had to dis assemble the knife 3 times to get it right . Now there is no blade play .
But those indents are ........................... soft ! As a letter opener , ok ! But for anything remotely heavy duty or general duty ...................... I would reach for another knife !
Knife has been tuned and re sharpened . It's kind of HOT here ATM ( At The Moment ) , so it will be a while before I slice rope . But I thought I better put this out there while it is fresh in my memory !
