Pricenton Tec Swerve - New 1w bike blinkie!

I'm curious whether the two LEDs fire at the same time, or alternate, and what exactly the flash pattern looks like. Having a diffused beam on one emitter strikes me as a valuable feature, since people often aim their taillights very poorly

I did see a properly-aimed SuperFlash the other night while I was driving my car on a 4-lane arterial. It was hard to miss :) but that didn't stop the obliviots in the right-hand lane from driving right up behind the cyclists, THEN trying to figure out what to do once they had no other option :banghead: So as Scotty would say, I think we need more power!

I believe they alternate. The blink rate has been commented on as being slow. The first link above may show the real blink rate.

Thanks for the link, Migs! Might it be time to update that ol' rear blinker review thread of ours? ;)

On a separate note, I am/was a big fan of PT, as they (used to) make a lot of their stuff in the US. I was excited at the prospect of the Swerve possibly being made here, but from PT:

"The new PT Swerve is made in China."

I know this has nothing to do with its form or function, however I thought I'd throw it out there for people who might be interested. :D

Looking forward to (real) reviews on this!

Absolutely!
I hope the blinking rate is faster than what it's shown on their website.

OT, but, I realized yesterday that I hadn't changed the batteries in my PB SuperFlash in aaaages. Put some fresh alkies and was reminded of why I like that blinker so much, and why you shouldn't look directly into a light...

I like to run lithium cells in my SuperFlash (and other taillights) partly for that reason... they maintain their target voltage pretty well right up until they drop dead.

I've actually been running NiMH's in there, but don't have a charger handy, so I had to resort to alkies.

News

Hello

That tail light ships this week so you should start seeing them in bike shops in the next week or so.

Thanks,

Thanks for that update, wondering where they'll show up first in Canada?

MEC carries PT lighting but I hope we won't have to wait till end of summer or even fall...
