Pricey Headlamp

Ok . for the lazy people and to get some kind of response, it's a $250 headlamp for 3 LED's and it's rechargeable.

Are they going to put 6xAA NiMH on the front of your head with nothing to balance it in the back? That sounds like a bad plan! IMHO, a headlamp doesn't need to be ridiculously powerful unless it's for a biker - and then it should be helmet-mounted (and advertised as such). Still, it would be nice to have a 3-emitter setup if it offered good throw and flood at the same time. Runtime would suffer accordingly though - I wouldn't want more weight than the Apex on my head, and three emitters would require quite a bit more power. Something like that needs an external battery pack with li-ion or C/D NiMH....

Much like what I use for night orienteering - though I have 4 XR-E LEDs rather than 3 :D. Powered by a 2 cell 18650 LiIon remote pack, which gives me ~1.5 hours on highest (750mA drive) setting via a Fatman with separate uC controller board (soon to be upgraded to a Maxflex when I get round to it).

Not really sure of the relevance though, as that light only has 2 LEDs, only one of which is a high power one.
