Problem with SL-20X Dimming

Can anyone help me out with this? I have a Streamlight SL-20X running an SL-35X bulb and I've noticed that it doesn't appear the brightest all the time. If I switch it on and off a few times, it can vary from brightest to slightly dimmer.

I sent it in to have it repaired, and they cleaned out the barrel threads and the tailcap, but it still seems to have this dimming effect. Anyone have a clue?

The 35X bulb pulls a lot of power. From experience, sounds like you have a bad or worn out battery stick...

Thanks Dano. That sounds like the only option I have left. I'm curious if you use a NIMH battery pack or just a regular NICD. NIMH could probably boost the brightness and runtime.
