Problems getting orders?

7 months is a long time indeed (although Fiat can top that with what is now an 8 month wait for a disc backing plate). Which communication channels have you tried to contact Rob through? I was in contact with him just two days ago via email.

Cheers,

Mike

I have sent an email about every month, with a promise of shipment in 10-14 days. Just trying to get a sense of the wait. I am unable to call as I am deployed in Iraq.

I was going to wait for Rob's reply to my email which I sent last night. That email should have gotten to him on Fri morning English time. However, since he hasn't replied yet, which means I likely won't hear until Monday, I thought I would get online and tell you that I've been waiting 10 months now. I originally placed my order for a Wee and Raw with some batteries back in April.

This is my fifth email to him. He usually replies within a day or two and says the order will go out shortly--similar to what he sent you--and then I hear nothing for a couple of months. I sent an elaborate detailed email of frustration to him in December and he said he would be gone for the holidays but back on Jan 4 and get my order out at the beginning of Jan. I'm very frustrated and feel something must be wrong over there. There was a long earlier thread and then people just stopped posting until your new thread since that one is on the previous page, and no longer shows on page one of the Lummi area of Candlepower Forums. Here's the link:
http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=226212&highlight=precious Since this has disappeared onto page two it is only accessbible via a search--I use the word "precious," which gets me to it.

So, I'm glad to finally see someone posting. EngPaul listed his problems with Rob in the Jeers section a few months ago FWIW. I'm waiting for Rob's reply, but 10 months for an order, without feedback, until I email is close to outrageous. I haven't asked for my money back because so many people have said this is a great product, but I won't be ordering anything else from him (hope this doesn't guarantee that my order will not come) until I understand what the problem is and why he is responding as if nothing has happened.

Good luck to you on your mission and stay out of harm's way if you can.

Hm.

I think fun and games stops when money is involved. 6 months with repeated reminders is more than enough for legal actions.
Especially prepaid stuff.

Thank god i looked into the forum before ordering.

Hmmm... to me EngPaul's jeer was enough of a deterrent to me... I recently started to rethink my judgment and was contemplating an order... I think I will pass for good.

It was mentioned in his jeer, that Rob was going to try and sort out all of the backorders, in a way that would affect his & his businesses reputation the least.

But 10 months... C'mon.

6 months, 10 months?

I must be one of the lucky few; I received mine after 5 months, and I was sending Rob an email about every two weeks.

I would get info such as yes, 10-14 days, just waiting on reflector. Then it was waiting for the battery charger, then it was batteries, then it was reflector again, then it was the clip. I was then assured everything was there, just waiting on the locator. Then I got an email saying he was just waiting on the clips, ...., on and on and on.

I asked for just the torch, which I received, then respectfully asked if I could cancel everything else through sheer frustration and to Rob's credit, he did cancel the rest of the order and refunded my money.

Frustration and the extended waiting game takes the fun out of torch collecting, no matter how good a product is (and sadly, it really is an exceptional torch). As much as I desperately want a Wee NS, I will probably never own one of these little gems, unless Rob fixes his supply issues, and torches are delivered in 10-15 days instead of 10-15 weeks.

I really look forward to that day, hopefully in the not to distant future.

Please Rob, take note of these plea's for the sake of all the people who dearly love your product's.

Hi Guys, just acknowledging this thread & that I am hearing you all.
It is clear that my backlog has been a problem for a good while now & I dont doubt that enough is enough for some of you.
Again I would like to reassure you that you will get your order & I am not keep anybody waiting just for the fun of it. In an ideal world all orders would be dispatched right now & I would have some stock remaining for immediate dispatch of any new orders.
Things have become a little tuffer again due to very little sales in January.
I hope things will improve & my new light MiL will encourage sales.
Regardless given a little more time you will receive your order from me. Again I am very sorry for keeping my customers waiting.
Rob.

I hear you Rob and have been accepting that there are supply and other issues. However, my patience began to run quite thin after 8 months. As I said in my email reply, I am willing to give you until the end of February as you requested this time even though that will take me to 10 1/2 months from the initial order. That just shows you how much I value your unique product. After that I'm going to ask for my money back as no flashlight is worth a wait any longer. You really need to improve communication and not make promises that can't be fulfilled. Customers need to have realistic feedback.

Well I have only been waiting 2 months now. I only ordered because the website stated the light was in stock. I have no problem waiting but I just think it is wrong to show an item in stock and ready to dispatch. I was told that the light would dispatch early January as they were on vacation. I think everyone understands supply issues but I really think you should take down the statement on your webpage "In stock torches". If there is just 1 item supply issue, is the light really ready to dispatch?

Could you imagine walking into an auto dealer and being told the new car is in stock and ready for sale but oh, the engine and tires are not available at this time due to supply issues but we will gladly take your money.

I am on the fence as to canceling and asking for a refund or perhaps just asking to ship my light without any batteries or trits. It has to be in stock just the bare light. The website says so!

Sounds like a business model that needs repair. This is discouraging. I was looking forward to the mil. Not sure I want to wait that long for it especially considering what it will probably cost.

I too have been watching your products with excitement and want to buy some of your light but please explain why you have not delivered 10 months Old orderers, i Can not see what january sales and the new MiL have Got to do with the case.

Guys, I realize there are no excuses & orders must be dispatched in a reasonable time frame.
The negative impact of the Jeer in the CPFMP has been felt & another thread along the same lines is sure to have an even greater impact on my business. Yes excepted you could suggest self inflicted. Regardless any further bad press against Lummi & Lummi will cease to exist.
It has been tuff & continues to stay tuff. All I ask is for time & you will get what you have paid me for.
I am determined to get through these difficult times & do NOT consider throwing in the towel.
I need your support & hope you can continue to provide it.
:thanks:

I too have a pending order with Rob (only a couple of weeks though) and have been in contact with him. He has given me a promise date and I expect to hold him to it. Hopefully he will keep it and I can post my experience here; good luck Rob.

Let's try to post current stuff here so that we can see if things do get better. We all seem to have enough data showing his past poor performance, but let's see if things get better. Everyone seems to agree that his torches are great so maybe he should get another chance. I am (we all are) patiently waiting.

Ow, 7 and 10 month delays (I feel for you guys, that hurts!), but hopefully Rob will come through for you on shipping your lights out. Fingers crossed he'll be able to beat down his backlog - his lights have a great rep so it would be a real shame for Lummi to go under because of poor past performance.

Good luck with the backlog Rob!

While I'm new to Lummi, I'm not new to lights. I already knew about Lummis, but wasn't interested as I wasn't into rechargeables. Well, now I am and plan to buy my first Lummis next week.

Of course, this thread and the jeer don't inspire confidence, I'm worried as well and wondered if I should do this order or not. So, I wrote Rob a mail about what I want to have and what to expect. He just told me what's in stock and what isn't. Some locators are still delayed, it is quite difficult to get some, Bart also experiences problems with them.

I WILL make my order on sunday (I would do it immediately, but I have to wait for funds...) and am confident Rob will do everything to avoid mistakes of the past and to get it right again. This doesn't work without support of course, which means orders by CPF enthousiasts. I would suggest people ask first, if the desired lights are in stock and when they are available, it's up to Rob to provide honest informations. Perhaps a sticky with stock informations would help?

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to my first high-power and classy micro-lights and I know I'll have to be somewhat patient as I want the locators professionnally installed. Good things come to those who wait, I'll provide feedback of how it works out! :twothumbs

Sounds good. Despite comments above I am still looking forward to the MIL. It looks like the perfect EDC light for me and in the past all of my ORBs have showed up on time and CS has been perfect. Hopefully the MIL will be affordable and available asap.
