I've started some assembly work on 50 pieces of a Double Grooved Titanium Light. I'm presently working on 15 bare Ti versions, while the remainder of the run is off to be DLC coated (diamond like carbon coating), which is extremely hard and durable. Not to mention very shiny and pitch black.

So for now, I'm building the LEs:

And the Seoul P4 emitters as well.

The reflectors will be smooth IMS 20mms that have been cut to fit the LE. Sorry for the blurry image.

LE installed and foam ring added, as well.

I'll post more pics as time allows.

OK, some specs:

Body: 6AL4V Titanium; 24mm diameter by 72mm long (.95" x 2.82"). Weighs 2.6 ounces with the battery installed.
Driver: single level output set at 750mA, the DG750 from the Shoppe
Lens: Double-sided anti-reflection coated 1.5mm thick Sapphire lens
Reflector: IMS smooth 20mm
Battery: Rechargeable AW RCR123
Light Engine: made from 7075AL; easy to install and remove with tweezers.
Foam ring to prevent battery rattle when off
Operation: Twisty--only takes about 1/4 turn to operate
Body will have O-rings installed for moderate waterproofness.
Body has been milled to accept up to five Trit vials for user installation
Split ring hole with recess will allow for tail standing operation.
Bodies have been hand polished; while the bare Ti have been polished to remove almost all machining marks. The DLC coated version will have some machining marks visible, but only under magnification.

Note: I had extra LEs made, so if you want a spare, so that you can install the latest and greatest LED, or a different 14mm driver, you can buy one for $18.

OK a teaser drawing of what the DLC coated version should look like:

You can use your imagination for the bare Ti. Or wait until I have some pics to post. :D

Looking good! Looking forward to seeing pics of the whole light, as well as some specs (CR123?, primaries? recahrgeables? Drive levels? UI?)

Thanks for sharing!

thanks. I imaigne it will look rather similar.
Still wondering about specs though...cuz that's what I do.

:eek:oo: That's purrrrrdy. Beautiful renderings too, Fred. They better not come with chocolate - that'll be the dealbreaker!
