Re: Project Genesis - Sky Lumen Nguyen

I will still buy one but haven't figured out which emitter I should put in such an expensive light. Would like to see some numbers.

Yes, the next step would be to know the LED options and what will be available/possible.

Vinh, thanks for all of the information in these recent posts.

I, too, was wondering if there were any additions or changes to available LED options from what was listed in the first post.

Is it weird I kinda want one with an XP-L PDT? I don't have one of those yet, and that used to be the ultimate Vinh emitter choice. Tough decision!

Still love my XP-L PDT SD26vn. Great throw, great tint.

Re: Project Genesis - Sky Lumen Nguyen

What are the W1.1 and W2 leds?

Osram flat white 1mm and 2mm

I think they're actual names are OSRAM KW CSLNM1.TG (1mm2), KW CSLPM1.TG (2mm2)
1.1 might actually be CULNM1.TG 1mm2
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I think I confused myself.

W1.1 = Osram CULNM1.TG
W2 = Osram CSLPM1.TG

Thanks. I take it that these produce more throw.

I am considering switching from 2075 to 2011 type aluminum. Still much greater strength than 6061 but better thermal and electrical conductivity VS 7075.

Strength really isn't of major concern in this application and I figured you were going with the 7075 for reasons of exclusivity. It sounds like 2075 or 2011 might be the way to go if there's a potential for the light to perform more efficiently.

Another thing on the negative for 7075 Alu is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGeeyYrlC7I

Not really a negative that would come into play here Glenn, but I realize that you might have been joshing with the group. :laughing::thumbsup:

I love 7075 cuz it's as strong as mild steel but then I also realized my light is beefy enough that trading some strength for light performance is also worth it. I will make the final call soon.

Is there a significant cost difference if you switch away from 7075? If there was, that would be a benefit as well.

I don't know the price difference yet but I don't think it's really significant. Final price will of course reflect which metal is used.
