So my cheapo projector broke. Took it apart to get the LED out. Ya'll might find the pics amusing. No markings on the LED, anyone have any guesses on make?

I was surprised to find the glass lenses to be really nicely made. The heatsink is really really nice.... fans....embedded copper. Barely gets warm even when I take the fans off it for a few minutes and watch on a thermal camera.

The fresnel triangle box thing goes over the LED module and that's what you see lighting up the tree in total darkness.

I'd love to get this thing off 110V and stick it in a box, but without knowing the LED make, I'm not sure how I'd drive it on 12V.

Be a cool little project.

Suggestions welcome!

The LED array looks like a custom chip-on-board unit. Guessing at a nominal Vf for the array of 32V, with a perhaps 10A max drive current

What are the dimensions on that LED die?
