I'm still in for two. I prefer the flat top but not because of the price difference. The crenulated seems to have just too much going on (a little too busy for me). I prefer stainless but if you get more requests for aluminum, that will work.

To be fair, and not creating a lowball anticipation, he gave the ranges of $30-40 & $40-50 for HA/SS respectively. I'll follow Karl's lead of 4 SS or 5 HA-III. I do want it noted however, that generally Karl should be following me. 😀
Both will look nice, and hold up to normal use...so I have a cost-effective leaning towards HA-III. If this ends up being the one you pick, let us know if their is a choice between black or natural. If I had to pick one I think it would be HA black.
I think the pricing on slots/grooves/crenalations are gonna push it out of minimum needed quantity.

I have read through all these posts but have not seen exactly what is different between the bezel made for the KD lens and the bezel made for the MG lens.
Is the only difference the thickness of the edge of the lens, or is there more to it? If it's just a matter of thickness, can you just make one design and use a fat o-ring to fill in the gap?
Anyway, updating my earlier post, I would prefer a pair of stainless steel, smooth edge bezels, for the MG glass.
I think stainless would look better than anodized aluminum on my purple and camo 1D Mags😀

cnjl3: Thanks for your flexibility on your order and for the suggestion on the picture reorg. I thought it was getting a little convoluted as well. Once we all get synchronized maybe just starting a new thread for the sale of this bezel/s would be the way to go. Is the CPFMarketPlace the correct location for a selling thread?

Unfortunitly I agree, the higher cost of the Cren-Fin-Slot bezel is probably not going to get enough traction. Like I mentioned before maybe a hybrid bezel is the way to get the price down and still be able to incorporate some of the bells & whistles.

The KD has a very pronounced shoulder or flange on it making it compatible with a stock Mag bezel. The MG on the other hand has a very small shoulder and larger base O.D.. So two things needed to change with the MG design, a larger bezel through bore and a side mounting o-ring groove in order to properly capture the lens making it necessary for two different designs. Please don't let me forget that I will need to order o-rings to go with the MG style bezel because I had to go with a thicker and different diameter seal.

Thank you to all of the members who have responded to my posts 126, 136 & 139. However, I need to hear from all interested parties.
If all members on the list were to decide on the same style bezel at current count we would have 51. This assumes only the minimum quantity for each member with a range. I also intend to add to the order by a few, but it's going to take the large majority of us to make it happen.

Nanomiser, i've totally changed my preference regarding the bezel...i'm for the heavy crenulated bezel (last pic in the first post) but isn't enough interest in this...

Shoot, the costs are increasing....I think I'll have to change my "buy-in" to one HA flat-top for the KD lens only.

In an ongoing effort to keep all members interested I have added a crenellation option to the Flat-Top bezel. As you can see the design is done and the drawing has been submitted to my machinist for quotation. However, for this initial run I will have to stay with the MG style only and defer the KD for later date. Again, the crenellations are in addition to the Flat-Top style not in place of it. The price should fall somewhere inbetween $50 and $75.
