Go for the Nuwai .5w AAA.....nice light and in the $25 range.

It just depends on what you want to spend, really. The E1e combo is great, but the QIII can be had for half the price and it's not half the quality, at least mine isn't. That 1/2 watt light is cool, too, and it's less expensive. What do you want to pay?

I'd say it depends on what you want out of the light. Do you want a high performance light, or a cheaper solution that can do the same job for less, but maybe not perform quite as well?

I think the Nuwai .5W AAA would be a good buy, although there are other fantastic pocket lights out there as well. Personally, I use my Gerber Infinity Ultra. There are gripes about the old CMG's being better quality...and maybe that's true (I've never used one of the original Infinity Ultras) but my Infinity Ultra serves my needs perfectly...so it's no surprise I keep reaching for it. It's a single LED, isn't that bright...but hey...I don't stumble over the ottoman, so mission accomplished! It's also uh...low profile...so I can move around the house without searing everyone's retinas as they try to sleep!

If you want something a little brighter, but still a pocket light, the Inova X1 is also a good pic. Just a warning...this thing is basically a spotlight...NO sidespill. It's perfect for viewing your target, but for basic navigation you'll have to swing the thing around because you can essentially only see what's in the spot. I has it's uses though, so overall I like this light a lot!

Strictly sticking to your two provided choices though...I couldn't say. I don't have experience with either light. I'll only recommend what I've personally dealt with.

What they said. It depends on what you need the light for and what you are willing to spend.
The QIII is pretty impressive for the price and if you are looking for something in the form factor of the E1e but sporting a led and that you won't be afraid of using, then I think the QIII is indeed a pretty good idea.

Re: Question about LED lights; not keychain but po

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'll postpone converting my E1e for now (low on bucks -- tax season). I'll go with the NUWAI Q-III.

Used a QIII last night for a walk outside in the dark...
Outstanding! And the street price can't be beat (Around US$35).
I love Surefires...but they are WAY more expensive. I'd still like to have one though. E1L or whatever they now call it w/ the LED head.
