Hi everyone!

I've got a Costco 10million cp spotlight and the battery died...

Would it be possible to replace the SLA with a 14.4v NiCd pack (sub-c sized)? I measured the battery and it looks like a staggered side-by-side stack would neatly fit with a little room left over.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Sure, the voltage is fine. As long as the propossed battery pack fits in the light it would be a nice improvement from the SLA.

Most cheaper spotlights use automotive headlight bulbs, these are designed for about 14 volts, and will give a much better light at 14.4 volts than at 12 volts.
The bulb life will be reduced, but these bulbs are cheap and will still have a fair life.
Presuming a 55 watt bulb, the current will be about 4 amps, therefore ensure that cells suitable for this are used, the ones made for cordless power tools are good.
Remember that the charger supplied with spotlight is unlikely to suitable for charging your new battery.

hello there,

i have a 12V 100Watt halogen spotlight(deben lightforce striker). would one of these types of battery packs be useable for me instead of the 12v 20AH SLA battery that i have to carry around with me in a rucksack...?
im searching for a lightweight alternative..any help would be greatly appreciated.

kidest regards
