Alright guys this is my first post and I have a question on the Cree Q5 LED Drop-in.

Long story short I've got an old Surefire 962 on my AR. It has just been technologically surpasses so I was looking for a cheap upgrade. Looking over on ar15.com lots of the guys love to take a surefire g2 and upgrade it with one of these. [Link removed - DM51] I just about had my mind made up to purchase it when I saw this [Link removed - DM51] the voltage is different but are these the same freaking bulbs with just a big price difference?

Also what has been your experience in ordering from DealExtreme? [ :green: - DM51]

Welcome to CPF!

The TNVC drop-in is a high quality replacement for SF. The Deal Extreme [DX] is a lower quality unit. The TNVC part will probably arrive quickly, the DX part might arrive in several weeks or months.

Just so you know, the Q5 emitter is not the "latest & greatest" from Cree, the current "LED De Jour" is the XP-G R5 or S2. CPF member "Nailbender" offers some very good drop-ins.

You might consider checking out Jake25 's site, he sells Solarforce products including some very nice drop-ins at very reasonable prices.

There are LOTS of great dealers here just drop over to the CPF Marketplace. You've come to the right place for your SF.

If you want a good drop-in, check out the Malkoff site.

If you want a good and cheap place to start, the DX drop-in should work.

:welcome:
