So no confusion I'm thinking this 40mm 7* Cree XP-G driver with the Khatod 4 degree lens option.
Cutter Electronics claims a potential of 3000 lumens when it becomes available in about a month.
That sounds like an awful lot of extra lumens given what we are all currently trying to build into our torches.
Too good to be true, or have I missed something?

I never think to buy any product from Cutter.
Take order for out of stock products, Never mention on website for out of stock products.
Never reply if you try to contact them.
when you put depute on paypal they force to close the dispute on Paypal after that they will think to solve problem.
My order Place on 7 June still Pending........

I didn't have any issues with my order about a month ago.

There were already boards available with 7 XPG's, but I didn't see one with a driver included. Looks interesting, but I'm a not convinced about the optics. If you don't need a tight beam, this would work fine though.
 
I must say these people has replied to a couple of emails in the past, and one order a while a go was serviced normally.

I don't know the diameter of this thing but would be pretty wide, 100mm maybe. I might ask them.

Would look like you were carrying a shield or a very bright frisbee!
 
Unsure why you use the pejorative term "boast", especially on a blog site like this.

Are you saying your advice is to go for something smaller as this is too big for a dive torch, or what?

Im saying it puts out a lot of lumens but the beam is floody so too wide for what we usually want on a dive torch.
As packhorse pointed out might be good for a video system.
With XPE installed its around +/-6 deg, with XPG it will be +/-10.

Give me a quality light beam over quantity any day. I have a 16
x xp-g light with 4000 lumen plus and as a dive light it's really crap. Fantastic photo light though.
