R50vn - Best 26650 Light

Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Help Support CPF:

Today both of my r50's arrived. Super excited and had them both spec certified as I am going to keep the better of the 2 (yeah yeah selfish I know) for myself and gift the other to my father in law for his 60th. I was being real careful and was worried I would mix them up so I opened the first....warranty card had 2570 lumen, 44k lux. Sweet! Now trying to be overly cautious I set the light aside back in it's box making sure there was no mixing of the two. Open 2nd box, 2680 lumen 46k lux!!!

Flip the light over and there is no doubt there will not be a mix up.....FIAT LUX!!!

Woohoo so cool congrats:)

congrats procharger. Thanks for the info.. I have a question for everyone. U ordered a light and didnt pay for the lumen/lux measurement $10. The light turn out to be a fiat lux.. Is vinh still engrave ff or will he let the buyers know about it??

I paid for engraving and specs so I can't answer, but it was engraved fiat lux...and was a surprise to me...had no clue til opening. V54, power button, fiat lux all in a row.

Thats like Christmas and your birthday all at once. Or as good as wimmer coming over with a six pack of beer:)

Huge thanks vinh, newlumen,OG,wimmer ,what an awesome little(did i say little) compact light! Great olight UI which i love, simple press hold to advance. Real nice output with the large intense hot spot and lots of useful bright spill. Real perfect light for work, home, camping or dog walking(general use type).

How small

Love the engraving!

Tail cap and 26650

Tail cap cover for the USB feels far more substantial to others

Cant wait to try out as soon as i get some time and darkness

Cheers:)

Vinh - Safety Lock Out Mode? (Electronic Lockout)

Perhaps I did not catch this in the thread, but I watched a video on U-Tube on this light (see link below) and they mentioned loosening the tailcap for a safety mode, just as you did. Then they stated that you could press and hold the button on low mode and the light will go into Electronic Lockout Mode and the button will glow "RED" and then go out. If you try and press the button again to turn the light on, or go into a different mode the button will once again just glow red, thus informing you that you are in electronic lockout mode and that you need to press and hold the glowing red button down to return the light into normal function mode. Is this correct, and is this the way the Fantastic R50VN light will also work?

Please forgive me if I missed this in the thread, but all I remember seeing is the loosening of the tailcap to protect the light from turning on accidently. Just trying to help out the "V54" followers here..... which I will soon be myself!

If i get chance soon, will try and get a few beam pics, out front(not best as phone auto balanced down, tried locking and changed tint!)

I wanted to get out tonight , ended up not getting around to it:rolleyes: Hopefully soon will get the r50vn out other than around the house. Told Rach about it and what you guys did, she was also taken back and shone it around. Very impressed, then went on looking for the frogs near the pond with it..........within a minute or so Callum came running out with a torch shining it around:)

Quite surprising the throw on this, maybe 300ft+ away lighting up the trees over the road, 2 rows of houses and a cricket field away.
