Nope nothing that is plainly out of sorts. It was working just before I put it back together and it went haywire.

Please keep us posted on your light. In the past Henry has taken care of issues for me and I'm sure he will do the same for you!
Good luck

Need some help regarding the EDC High CRI -

I searched the vastness of info here, but maybe you could just answer this quick question:

Does the High CRI 100 ramp down to the next lowest level after 10 seconds like the other EDC's (120, 140, 170)?

HDS website does not really tell me either.

Thanks

Yes, there is a burst of 10 seconds...

As others have said, it does. Do also take note that the high CRI only has 22 levels of output and not 23 like the rest. It starts at level 22 which is 100 lumens and go one level down after 10 secs which is 70 lumens at level 21.

SeaHunt, Quelalumieresoit,

EDC-100-Ehc is the part number for the EDC High CRI.

The difference between the EDC naming and the Ra Clicky naming is just naming.

We are returning to color coding the positive contact on all lights since all bezels use the same marking style. In the recent past, only the 140 GT and 170 lights always came with the positive contact color ring. Now all lights will have the ring. Yellow is 100, green is 120, blue is 140, white is 140 GT, purple is 170, red is 200, orange is 240.

Take a look at the User's Manual, section 12 - Internal Brightness Levels: "The maximum brightness level – also referred to as burst level – trades efficiency and runtime for maximum light output. Burst level is automatically limited to 10 seconds per invocation. Burst level drops to the next lower brightness level after 10 seconds of use. You may return to burst level as often as you like for another burst of maximum light output."

See the level table in the same section for a list of all levels and lumen outputs.

Henry.

...um....am I missing something, or is this a hint? If it is, I'll be buying another light again real soon! I sure hope it's a neutral tint XP-G.

A clicky that starts at 240 and steps down to 200 sounds like a dream, please could we get any more official info on this? I am just dying to get more info, details, runtimes. :paypal:

Thierry,
You still have a Ti Ra? I can't wait to have mine upgraded to 240 lumens.

I still Have ALL the HDS I bought and nearly all lights I ever bought. I'm not a seller and I surely wouldn't sell my #10003...

OK, I also would like to have 240. I guess, you can ask about anybody on CPF and they'd rather have 240 Lumen in a Clicky than 170. I don't think I'll send my light in immediately however, after all from 170 to 240 is "only" 70 Lumen difference. You'll notice of course, but it won't be another world.

Now, another question is the beam of course. I don't think the 240 Lumen edition will use an Osram GDP, let's speculate it's an XP-G, which is much bigger than the GDP. AFAIR, the reflector of both the C and the Cn is the same in the Clicky and the different beams are made by the different emitters. If it tasy the same for the XP-G, it will probably be something in between the actual wide and narrow version. Will there be another reflector as well for another emitter?

A more balanced beam could be a reason to upgrade immediately, if not I'll surely wait for the next generation after the 240 Lumen. It's quite decided that I will send in my light one day however, as mine still has the "old" tailcap, an upgrade to the new one including a spare would be a good idea I think if it's done together with a more powerfull emitter. I also must think of the shipping costs, which will be about 60$ both ways, without speaking of the risk. I get used to ship my flashlights around the world however... 😀

Well I am glad I didnt go buy another 170T to have 2. I thought about it and my light is not even 1 month old and I want another but why not wait until something different is released.

So whats up with this 240?

If the 240 is XP-G, than an upgrade of 170s might be complicated/unlikely as these were keyed for Osram emitters (the CNC design of the heatsink). Maybe Henry comes up with a solution, but that's a lot of speculation at this point.

There's an update possibility for the Titaniums to get the newest emitters. It's 50$ AFAIR.

How it's done and what is changed is of minor interest for the actual owners of the shiny beauties! :nana:

Welp, for months I've been saving and waffling over whether to get a 170T or wait for the rumored "new" light. I guess this answers it. 🙂
