Isn't it a bad sign for the waterproofness?

Nope. The seal is still intact. When i unscrew the battery tube, the boot deflates even more, and reinflates when i screw it back.

On a different note, this low-level flicker is a really weird thing. While i was writing my previous post, i've fired up my Clicky on low and it kept flickering continuously. Now, 40 minutes later, it's solid as stone. Not even a wink.

Currently 39 minutes into my AW RCR123 runtime test on my Clicky 140-Cn.

I'll post again when it drops down. The RCR was fully charged but had been sitting for about a month so I'm not expecting to break any records. 😀

My boot seems to have inflated slightly. Tail-stand was GTG when it came in the mail, but now it wobbles.

My Clicky 140-Cn with a month old (and very slightly used) AW RCR123 ran for 72 minutes.

It was lying on the table and only got slightly warm.

I stepped it up to burst which lasted 10 seconds then it stepped down and continued on with the rest of the runtime at Level 22 output.

I don't think the ten seconds of burst should have the runtime much.

I'm impressed and can't wait to do a runtime test on an RCR123 hot off the charger. 😀

Wow, 72 minutes on high FROM A RECHARGEABLE. That's incredible, especially since my primary level is even lower than stock and that's what I normally use it on.

Here's what my Clicky's lowest level flicker looks like:

Q1: For those of you whose Flickies do clicker... i mean Clickies do flicker - are they flickering more or less than this?

Q2: Are there any Flicky users... drat... Clicky users whose Clickies DON'T flicker on the lowest level - and i mean don't flicker AT ALL, NEVER. Mine does that every now and then, for example, and i haven't noticed it till i've really started using the lowest levels.

Took my Clicky for a walk in the woods tonight and took some beamshots down a path. The beam shape is great for lighting down a path as well as seeing stuff on either side.

i use my clicky extensively on the lowest low (its my primary setting) and never have flicker.

I've had various results with flicker and heat again plays a part, generally with a primary cell levels one two and three are solid unless I use burst for say 30 seconds then lowest setting flickers on a primary. With a rechargable the lowest 3 settings all have flicker exactly like your video orcinus, but I have found if I cool the light this flickering will cease.

grrrr 😱 ok mine flickers lol :scowl:

i guess because i always use it on low, it doesnt heat up or whatever to cause the flicker? but i left it on high for a while, then went to low, and yeah i definitely get it.

is there a fix for this, are people sending them back to get replaced or fixed?

Unlike with locator flash, i haven't found any correlation whatsoever between heat and flicker.
I've had it flicker while stone cold, after sitting on the table doing nothing for hours and i've had it NOT flicker after being on at level 23/22 for minutes.

My Clicky doesn't flicker ever. Period.

I've really, REALLY looked hard to try to find fault in my Clicky and I can't, I think mine (straight from Henry after they fixed the problems) is indicative of what you can expect from all RA Clicky lights that have been updated/fixed.

I've left it on level 22 for 72 minutes, then dropped down to the lowest low and it's rock steady.

I think there was just a few problems with the initial Clicky's, when they're fixed they're perfect. So if the problems bother you I suggest sending it back and getting it fixed.

Because when it's perfect, it truly is a wonder. It makes me look at my other lights and wonder if I really need them.

Flicky, very befitting

Mine flickers like yours.

Given how common this problem appears to be I'm amazed that this wasn't caught during development - especially since the NovaTac had (and AFAIK still has) the exact same problem.

I'll wait some more before sending mine in, I want to be absolutely sure that Henry has found and fixed all bugs - there's also that little detail about shipping cost from my location :green:

I was notified by BatteryStation yesterday that my 140C will arrive Tuesday. I ordered it a few weeks ago. I'm excited to receive it. Hopefully, in the delay, maybe some of the problems were fixed on this 'newest' batch. I'll let you know how mine functions when it arrives. Despite the functionality of the clip, from the looks of it, I don't think I will ever use it. I'll wait for a smaller clip. No use thinking about it until it comes though.

Yeah, i have the same problem (shipping, customs).
And have also decided to wait a bit for the same reasons.

I recently noticed an interesting phenomena with my 140C clicky. It appears to work best when unscrewed ever so slightly (somewhere betweena 10th and a 16th of a rotation). I was worried this would compromise the seals of the light, when my tail cap seemed to deflate to an almost flat bottom. I opened up the battery compartment, and then rescrewed it in, and turned to the small amount of optimal usage. The bulge is still there, meaning the thread seal remains intact. Good to know that the slight turn of the light will not compromise water proofness. Has anyone else seen this with their light, or know why it woul happen to be the case (in regards to the light operating best at the partial turn).

As for my flicky clickering on the lowest levels, I noticed it on level 1 only once, and has yet to clicker again. That is good to know!

m16a, could you please clarify what you mean by "work best" / "operating best".

In the past (a couple days ago) that would have been defined as working 100% normally, no un touched triggers of the light (which I why I got a new tail cap from Henry, my previous one did that anywhere) now, its graduated to with a button locked light, doing the triple flash to indicate a press when locked, and not operating at all when fully screwed in. I should also mention that when the button is unlocked and fully screwed in, the light behaves like the button is fully depressed, (jumping and staying to my set click press hold level that Henry designates as high from the factory) Rather odd.

So far mine has no flicker at all. I set in on low as a night light and no flicker at all....... The only thing I have noticed it the locator flask dies down when the light gets warm or the battery gets low. It comes back up when the light cools off and gets down right bright when cold..
