Any pics of Henry's new clip out there?
I have some pics posted earlier in this thread on 5/24

So what do you think of the clip? How does it carry? How's the strength of the spring steel? I've noticed that the stock silver Ra MOLLE compatible clip is really soft with a poor memory- even softer than the old HDS EDC clips and way softer than several of the custom spring steel clips that have been manufactured by CPFers over the years.

Yes, you can program strobe right out of existence. There is no difference between tactical and normal versions except for the default program and either can be changed to do pretty much whatever you want.

Got my High CRI Clicky last night. Got around to learning the customization menu today and now have everything set the way I like. (A burst, B med, C low low, D strobe) I LOVE this light. So awesome that you can customize every detail of the interface to your liking. The color rendition looks "okay" on a white wall, but really shows it's stuff outside. Just bright enough on burst to really see what is going on from a reasonable distance. I know it's all been said before, but this is one heck of a light.

Thanks HDS/Henry!!!

I'm waiting on a reply from Henry, but in the mean time does anyone know why my Ra flattens a battery whilst switched off? seems to take 2 or 3 days to totally flatten either a primary or secondary battery.

Norm, see post 866 and 876 this same thread.

With the new clip, the light rides nicely as long as you don't mind part of the light sticking above the top of your pocket/clip. It is not a particularly tight hold which is good and bad. Good because it is easy to clip on and take off the light. Bad because it could slide out given the right conditions. For my EDC purposes, it is about right. If I were taking this light out on a hike/hunt and clipped to a pocket/belt, it would be tethered.

The lip could be a bit higher to make clipping on to thicker materials easier.

Thanks Bill I would never have found those, unfortunately this light has been back one time already for this fault and it's a pain when it has to be sent and insured from Australia.
Cheers Norm

Is your Clicky an old or recent model, which LED, Seoul, or GDP. I have two recent model Clicky's, one narrow, and one Hi CRI. Also, have a twisty 100 Seoul LED. I wonder if Henry has worked the bugs out here, re Capacitor/drain issues?

I feel your pain. I sent in my Clicky because QA didn't notice my lens wasn't installed, and it seems to be policy with HDS that the customer eats the shipping back. I understand not paying for shipping for trivial issues (anodizing not even, clicky boot protruding too much, etc.), but legitimate QA issues like a bad capacitor (or a missing lens!) need their shipping handled by the manufacturer.

Good luck with your light. I spoke to Henry about my issue, sounds like a great guy. But even a good design needs to be executed correctly for a good final product. Or for that matter, fixing the end game (by way of reimbursed shipping) to an otherwise awesome Customer Service.

Paolo

I just received my new High CRI Clicky from Henry. As usual, shipping was blindingly fast. The light is wonderful and I'm totally sold on the color rendition of those high CRI LEDs.

I also got one of the new bezel-down clips. Since several members have asked for photos of this clip, I grabbed my camera and took a few quick shots:

The clip is nicely made and seems strong enough to be trusted with the task of holding my precious flashlight in place.
However, it seems safer to remove the clip prior to changing the battery to avoid scratching the lamp head when unscrewing it.

Beautiful! I am tempted to order another in high CRI. Just don't have the budget for now. I just can't resist busting my wallet. 🤢

Nice clip, a marked improvement over the original. I think I may finally be able to jump on the Ra bandwagon. Sad that a clip kept me from doing it earlier...

Try unscrewing it without removing the battery. I think that it will not scratch the HA. Would seem very unwieldy to remove the clip each battery change.

Do any dealers have the new clip in stock? I'm not paying $15.00 shipping on an $8.00 clip that'll ship for 50 cents.

Does anybody know of a guide for how to strip one if these down? I'm afraid of messing something up...

Got my clip too today! It holds the flashlight really tight. Unscrewing the head is a bit difficult as you have to lift up the clip so it doesn't scratch the head. Unscrewing a bit the tailcap can help in this case to remove some pressure from the clip. In the end, it looks much better than the long clip! Also, the gap between the clip and the Ra is just the perfect size for my belt. 🙂
