Hi

If I am honest I know nothing about light except the go on and off by a switch, I was looking for some info when I stumbled upon you. I hope you dont think I a cheeky as I am not able to give much back !!

I want a head torch that I can go after rabbits and rats with, would think it needs to spot over 20yds and I believe red is good tho I will take advice??

Thanking you

tiler

You might want to be more specific to get right reply. Specifically, (Don't you hate it when people are non-specific when asking you to be specific?) Country, price range, how soon you need it, how long each day you use it, how heavy the batteries can be for you.

I'd stick with single emiter leds above a watt. Browning phantom 70 with 2 day delivery for short days, fairly up to date led, and max comfort. Even a good old fashioned outdated Luxeon I 1 watt with good optic can have some good throw.

From my experience spotting pets' eyes (including a rabbit), white LEDs seem to work just fine. Just make sure whatever you get has a good beam.

Well I am by no means anywhere near good at this but I looked at the tacticka xp and it looked useful.

Needs to have spot (coloured be good)
colour filters
a walk would last around 3 hrs (not on permanently or maybe low)
Battery on head is not a favourite buy can live with it
Needs to see Rats & bunnies but they not see me LOL
I in UK

Thank you

tiler

Also is there quite a powerful torch (mag size) with filters to mount on a acope
