Are Radio Shack hybrids rebadged Ray-O-Vacs?

"Get the latest in NiMH rechargeable battery technology with these precharged, rechargeable batteries. They are ready to use right out of the package. These cost-effective batteries are built to last approximately 500 charging cycles and will retain approximately 80% of their charge for a full year while not in use. Reduce the number of batteries discarded annually by using precharged rechargeable batteries and save money at the same time.
  • Last approximately 500 charging cycles thereby reducing batteries discarded into environment
  • 1.2V/2000mAh Ni-MH batteries
  • Holds up to 80% of their charge for a full year"

I was in a radio shack the other day and saw these, they care calling them pre-charged not hybrid. They were on clearance 50% off for somehting like $19.99 for 4 AA's so I had to laugh at them.

That is no longer the price. Check their web site.

Their web site doesn't even list their pre-charged any more.

I foolishly bought a pair of radio shack NiMH's years ago, paid something like $12 for a two pack of 1200mAh then bough a bunch of sanyo 1650mAh for less than $2 each. I still have the sanyo's and they are from 2001, the radio shack ones died a long time ago and actually leaked a little. So extereme overprice, lower capacity and failed within just a few years.

Your previous thread here was deleted as advertising, and although this one is not a great deal different I was going to leave it here as a genuine query about these cells, until I saw you had cross-posted it in the MarketPlace. That is a better place for it anyway, so I'll close this one.

Please do not cross-post threads in this way.
