Sorry Monocrom, I didn't mean to bring down the room. Now what is a Church key? I'm not familiar with the term.

Just easier for me to post a video than put a written explanation. But it's known as that because in the old days, Christian groups would buy HUGE cans of fruit juice for large events, and use the triangular end for punching two holes into the top. One to pour the juice out of, the other for air-flow, otherwise the juice would not pour out at all. With newer Made in China variations, the metal is such junk, you have to put your thumb on the back of the ends of the tool, otherwise the tool bends upwards. I have a handful of Made in America Church keys.

Maybe I'm the minority, but I'm quite fond of the current crop of kids. For all their lulz and mischief, their rivers run surprisingly deep.

In other words, the kids are all right.

This is a great post. So much of the perception of different generations is from seeing too much on the news, seeing too much online, and not enough experience out in the real world.

Same goes for people who get caught up about right wing, left wing blah blah blah. Loud minorities on the ends of all spectrums. I'd bet GOOD money that all of these cultural divides are bought and paid for by the elite and the government parties to keep people divided and promote infighting in the working class.

Worry less about the people you see online, and build relationships with people in your communities. People of all shapes and sizes are alright when you actually make connections with them.

I make it a point to get face time w/ as many people as possible. If abiding by the old adage to avoid conversations involving religion and politics, all I find are good folk doing their best and more than willing to lend a hand.

And the kids open up a ton to anyone who can convince them that they will listen, not just lecture. Turns out most of what is bothering the upper generations amounts to a detailed act to do just that. It is simple opinions writ large to get a rise, sometimes an arbitrary take that they find gets under the skin. Get past all that and those kids are truly lovely people. They are also scared, anxious, unbalanced, and unsure, inexperienced, and sometimes kinda cocksure and dumb...so in other words, you know...kids.

Wild how many parents are totally checked out of their kid's lives too. That is what I think annoys me the most. Nothing new under the sun, I guess.

Having someone who can lend a hand, watch your back, help you out, encourage you when you're feeling down, and cook you a good meal, plus keep your house and clothes clean is far more important.... If she's good at screwing your brains out, think of that as a fringe benefit of keeping company with her.
