I got my RaidFire Spear with the orange peel (OP) reflector. I took some comparison pictures that i thought i'd share with you.
First is a comparison of the smooth and OP reflectors. This was shot on my white ceiling at a distance of about 7'.
RaidFire Spear Smooth Reflector, 7', white surface
RaidFire Spear Orange Peek Reflector, 7', white surface
I prefer the OP reflector. It widens the hot spot slightly but provides an over-all more consistent beam over-all without significantly compromising the throw power.
Here are some tests compared to some small Fenix flashlights. I realize this is in a way like comparing apples and oranges but for those of you that are interested....
ISO 800, f2.8
1. spear op, image brightness value -3.24
2. fenix P3D rebel 100 premium high op, -3.88
3. fenix P2D rebel 100 premium op, -3.86
4. fenix P1D premium Q5 op, -4.02
