A place in need of light.
All of these suggested lights and only myself and shineonyoucrazydiamond mention any incan's, what a shame, what is this world coming to? And it's only going to get worse:mecry:

Um:poke:….. I posted right over you, and I mentioned Big Beam lanterns. You can't get any more incan that that:D! I mean they haven't changed them in over 50 years! Also Wolf Eyes EO-13 under $100 bucks is great:twothumbs!

  1. $100+ > Malkoff MD2 w/M60W.I really don't have much in this price range but the Malkoffs are outstanding lights!
  2. $51-$99 > Quark 1X123 Neutral and Nitecore EX10GD (original ramping version)
  3. $26-$50 > INOVA T1(TFFC K2) and ICON Rogue 2.The Rogue doesn't look as good on paper as some other lights but it gets used more often than many of my more expensive lights.
  4. $10-$25 > Mag 2C X 3CR123 w/5-cell Magnum Star bulb and the Photon ReX.Although the runtime is short the Mag conversion is simple and offers a lot for less than $20.I have only had the ReX for a short time so it could change but so far I am impressed!
  5. $10 and under > Photon II. Not much in this price range but the Photon is definately worthwhile. The Photon X-Micro is good too if you want multiple modes.
Unfortunately some of the lights I listed have been changed/updated and I am not sure I would still rate them the same as the models I have. :sigh:

1. Best $100+ light.
Elektrolumens 3C Mag P7
He does not make them any more so:

2. Best $51 to $99 light.
Surprise, I don't have any. Thought most decent lights are in this price range. I got the L1T v2.0 (see below) instead of the L1D CE (now LD10) etc. ets. ctc.

3. Best $10 to $50 light
Fenix L1T v2.0
The Quark Mini AA WARMS would have made it but mine only have threads that are solid for 1 full turn then gets quite sloppy. Adequate for normal use and the head has never fallen off but it feels like its about to if I back off a bit too much.

4. Best <$10 (under ten) light
Dorcy 2AA Gelbrite ($3 Walmart Canada) with Dorcy 3V LED upgrade bulb ($4 Sears Canada).

[/B] 4. Best <$10 (under ten) light: Book of Matches
:crackup::crackup: Actually it IS better than a DX light that arrives DOA.

1. Best $100+ light: EagleTac MX25L3C Nichia 219
----Probably my best light. Period.

2. Best $51-$99 light: I just can't do it.
----Most of my lights fall into this price range. If really pressed, I'd say it's a 3-way tie between the Zebralight H600Fw, the Sunwayman V11R Neutral modded for 16650, and the EagleTac S200C2. All 3 are truly exceptional lights for what they are and do... it's simply impossible to say one is "the best".

3. Best $10-$50 light: Sunwayman D40A.
----I managed this for $49 with coupon and on sale, it's normally around $70, which is what I paid for my spare D40A. This is my favorite AA light, and one of my few "general purpose" lights that truly does everything pretty well.

4. Best Under $10 light: I have a 3W Chinese UV torch that takes 2xCR123. Bought it for $9.95 about 6 years ago. Don't know the name or brand, but it's been a suprisingly good light for the price. I would probably pay $30 for the same light and still feel that I got a good deal.

1. Best $100+ light: Not yet, but I'm working on it!

2. Best $51 to $99 light: Zebralight SC600wII L2 (nearly impossible decision though!)

3. Best $10 to $50 light: L3 Illumination L10 Nichia 3-mode

4. Best <$10 (under ten) light: LRI PWK Photon II LED always on my keychain

Man, that $51-$99 was a tough one! Lots of nice stuff in that range.

1. Best $100+ light: Fenix TK41.

Really nice thrower, especially if you want lots of runtime on AA cells.

2. Best $51 to $99 light: Sunwayman V20A.

Continuously variable output, which makes it my go-to light for most jobs requiring more than a minute or two of light. Uses 2xAA cells, so it's easy to power, and it fits on a Fenix headband.

3. Best $10 to $50 light: Fenix LD02.

My belt EDC. 25-8-100 lumen modes from 1xAAA cell and a clicky switch (can also be used as a twisty). If you add an LD01 pocket clip for bezel-up carry, you can use it on the brim of a hat as an impromptu headlamp.

4. Best under $10 light: Sipik SK68 clone.

Great as a loaner, because it has usable output and runtime on 1xAA cell, but it's cheap enough not to worry about someone losing, breaking or stealing it.

Caution: Once Nitecore, Forever Nitecore - Uses proprietary button-top batteries

By no means reinforcing onto anyone due to different needs of different people with different budgets.

$10- mini maglite aaa

Best light I've had at any price. The other categories, I've never found anything better, or even worth keeping for the money that was much more expensive.
