RCR123's in CREE/HO??????

I have a WE Sniper with CREE/HO, that is rated 3.7 - 6.0v. Can I use the rechargeable 123's with that light? I know the are 3.7v each and when charged are 4.2v, which means I'm running at 8.4 volts off a fresh charge. What is the tolerance of a CREE/HO emitter???

It sure looks like that won't work, but Mike@PTS could answer for sure. I know what I would do is run it off of one 18650, which is what I think a lot if not most folks are doing with these. I got my Sniper specifically for using these cells.
