Hello,

I got my docter aspherilux today and I really like
it. It has a perfect and beautiful beam !!! No rings, no hot spot, just a pure even circle of light. I got it for 18 Euros from a german assurance company. I'm german so it was easy to get it. I like the aspheric lens technology and I'm asking myself, why this is the only light with such a lens. I mean other companies could
easily produce a flashlight with such a lens.
The beam is perfect and unique. The projector-like
beam is fantastic ! It could be much more powerful of course... Does anybody have experiences with the doctor light ? Any comments ?

cheers,

Kaneda

P.S.: I really enjoy this forum !

yes! yes! the docter aspherilux produces a nice beam. I have one abt 5 years ago but the switch was crappy, it failed before the halogen bulb could blow.

I find it amazing that no other big company ever had the idea before to use an aspheric lens in order to soften the beam. I have brighter lights, I have lights with a much longer throw, waterproof lights, diving lights, much tougher lights and I have more expensive lights, but none of these lights produces such a wonderful beam.

What i understand is that for any lens it needs proper maintainence, I remember that my docter aspherilux lens had some growth on it after some time

I bought one from another member a few months back, and I really like it. It doesn't see a lot of use, but the beam it throws out is, IMO, flawless. Not much peripheral light, but the beam is more than wide enough to make up for this. Nice light, and I wouldn't part with mine!!!

Yes, the Dokter Aspherilux I have has the most perfect beam of light I've ever seen. It makes an excellent light for walking, as it produces a circle of light about the width of a sidewalk a short distance in front of you, with no dim spots or rings; it really shows up anything that might trip you up.

The only complaint I have is that it's not water resistant, (at least the model I have), so it gets less use than it might otherwise; I don't keep it in a jacket pocket as I might if it was water resistant.

They are somewhat difficult to find in the USA, and a bit spendy, but for a flashaholic, a unique light is always interesting.

I too have a Docter Aspherilux, and I too find it's weather resistance to be a deciding factor against it.

I do like the beam though.

It's round and almost perfect!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Hey, I didn't welcome you back yet! Damn, you had us (and me!) worrying for a long time!

I found that if I jar my Aspherilux hard, I may have to move the lamp a bit to get a perfectly even beam again.
