Received the sheaths for my Arc AAA and my Micra. I haven't had a chance to play with them very much yet. The retention for the Arc is the perfect amount. The light comes out when I pull it but I can shake the keyring as hard as I can and the light won't fall out. These sheaths are very high quality and well worth the $9 each. Thanks Eric!

I have a digital camera so I took two pictures but I don't have a website so I can't post them here. If you'd like me to email them to you let me know.

Well, now that I've had the sheath for a couple of weeks I can really see the advantages and disadvantage. For me there is only one disadvantage - the sheath makes my keyring bulkier. It took me a couple of days of experimenting with the keyring to position the sheath where it bothered me the least. Somewhere in the last two weeks I've gotten used to it. The advantages, to me, are obvious. I can use the light without the keys hanging onto it. Like while driving. Yesterday I was assembling some office furniture and needed a light. I was able to put the Arc in my mouth and still use my hands. I'm able to use the light a lot more now that I have the sheath.

The micra sheath is the same. I get a lot more use out of the tool now that I can seperate it from the keys yet I carry it everywhere because it's with my keys. Thanks Eric, the two sheaths are well worth the money.

I just received mine in the mail today. A truly great purchase. It is amazing how the retention is just perfect where, as has been mentioned, you can pull the Arc out without bother, but it will never shake out.

Everyone with an Arc AAA should order one; Normark makes a great sheath.

Rcvd. my sheaths today! Normark does some great work, I must agree. Great fit, nice shape, not too big and the AAA deploys perfectly. I'll be taking some pics this eve to show use on a keychain and some lanyards I've utilized. Can anyone help me with posting (Darrell?) - just need a server to park the pics.

These sheaths are well worth the wait. Now if we can just convince Normark to use PayPal so we can spend money faster & easier on his kydex "artwork"

.

EDIT: Referring to photo Darrell kindly posted for me (thanks Darrell, you da' man). What you see is the new "Normark AAA Sheath" in use, as well as the application of GloCord for lanyards, and some other goodies. If you're curious about the yellow lanyard, it's made from about 7" of cord and is a Scaffold knot with a Chinese Cross knot to finish.

Also in this pic is an example (sorry, crappy digicam) of laser engraving on the side of a AAA. Almost looks like screenprinting when you see it "in person", but under magnification you can see the anondizing and top surface of the knurling is etched. The blue lanyard contains part of a "camping kit" that will be given to campers during our trip to northern Canada (Spyderco Ladybug, Arc AAA white, Traser Glowring on GloCord with tautline hitch for adjustment). Note the Hamm's logo (durn mirror image).......anyone else remember Hamm's?

Lastly, sheath in use with keys. I know, where are the tools? On my belt usually or clipped to pocket.

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks again Darrell.

Got my two AAA kydex sheaths today, one for me, and one for my wife. Nice!

This may be the perfect accesory for the perfect small light. It just plain works. The sheath adds almost no bulk to a keychain, and as has been said, holds the light securely enough that no amount of shaking can dislodge it. -But when needed, it easily slips out for independent use.

By far, this is the best $9-each I've spent in a long time. If you don't have one, get one!

Oooh... I hate to be the only dissenting post here. I just got my three sheaths (two for the Arcs, one for the Micra). They are beautiful, and very well finished. However....

I can't get the Micra to release at all (used my vise and huge pliers finally - and dinged up the Micra pretty bad) and I have three AAA lights that fall out of my sheaths, while my other nine AAA's remove the Kydex material from the sheaths with every insert/remove cycle. And those nine lights are VERY difficult to insert and remove the fist time. In the case of the three that fall out, the lights are smaller diameter, so that certainly isn't the fault of the sheath. But is anybody else creating Kydex Dust™ each time they use them? It is VERY hard to insert and remove my lights the first time (in fact I currently have an LE stuck in each one of the sheaths with no idea how I'll get them out), but once the knurls are clogged up with Kydex Dust™ the lights slip in and out perfectly. I'm concerned that I'll eventually remove enough of the sheath to allow all my lights to fall out.

Am I just nuts? Did I just get the batch made on a Friday? Have I had too much wine this evening?

Too much wine. That's all there is to it.

My LE's fit snug and take out a little bit of material, but nothing drastic and it has gotten better. They will stop "sanding" the inside after a bit and should still remain pretty snug - at least that's my guess. My black AAA is snug, but perfect (IMO) for use on the lanyard. With a tug it comes out, and I know it won't fall out anytime soon. My guess would be the fit is dependent on the degree of knurling and anodizing (as well as the lubricity of the fermented grape juice with which you are operating

).

Normark, got any clues what's up?

At least I try to avoid too much whine.

But on a quiet friday night, home with the family, watching the Olympics.... nothing's better than a big mellow red.

I'm never putting my Micra back in the sheath. I put it in a second time, and had to go through the same near-surgical procedure to get it out. And I've now gotten both my LE's freed too. Boiling water poured over the sheath loosens them right up.

Arc sheath update: I took one LE and one sheath and performed about 100 in/out sanding cycles (I'll try no to be TOO descriptive about the process as there might be some young'uns reading). Now that sheath and that light fit perfectly. Just like everybody talks about here. I have a pile of black dust on my desk, and my "natural" LE is now almost completely black (including the reflector area) but it was worth it. I'll go blow it off and carry it around in the sheath today to see how it performs.

The Micra sheath still scares me though. I can't do the "sanding" trick with it since I pretty much have to destroy the tool each time I try to remove it. Still not sure what do do there.
