Currently breaking-in eight AAA and eight AA Eneloops, four at a time, on the charger. The process is slow but going well.

I'll also have eight AA and eight AAA Eneloops 'in reserve' as I won't be readily putting them into rotation at this very moment. Maybe in three to six or so months from now.

Would you recommend doing the 'break-in' on the charger of these additional Eneloops and putting them in reserve or just doing nothing and keeping them in their factory packing for the time being?

Got the charger and cells from Thomas Distributing.

Eneloop says they should retain 70% charge after 5 years. Think you should be okay for six months.

Leave the spares in their packaging in the fridge until you want to get them out for their first breakin.

I keep a reserve of new stock in the package until I need them. I try to stay ahead of demand, as I prefer to discharge/break-in before first use.

You can go to the trouble of putting them in the fridge if you want, in theory they will age more slowly and gracefully that way, but in actual practice, eneloops age so well anyway, there's not that much room for improvement.
