This Surefire is just the right size for me to put in my pocket. Really lightweight to carry. As for purchasing a diffuser, I made a homemade one from a soft drink cap(white) and since it wasn't a snug fit I put a small strip of duck tape inside the cap to make it fit. It works just fine for me. Now my next Surefire would be the Aviator A2 with a white led since it has the dual output.

Hi there guam, welcome to CPF, happy to hear that you are happy with your purchase. Interesting to note of your homemade diffuser, any chance of posting a picture? Your are also a fan of Surefire same as me. Word of advice, surf around the B/S/T section, you would be able to land quite a catch with reasonable prices.
The KL1 head can also be used with the 3.7v R123s rechargeable Li-On sold by our member AW in the dealer corner section. Also available chargers forsaid batteries....

I have an E1L that i thought was cool......UNTIL I modded it with a SSC P4 emitter and an Mcr20 reflector!!!!
HOLY CRAP!!! THE DIFFERENCE IS AMAZING!!!
Now this light is actually useful!!
I thought the stock E1L beam was cool (I like spotlights) But with the mod this tiny little light is a knock out!! It still throws great, if not better, and the spill and increased light output is something that you have to see for yourself!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOD TO ANYONE WITH AN E1L/E2L!!

What else required to change? I've never tried modding a light, don't have the confidence yet. Is the emitter and optics a simple swop? TIA

I use a diferent web browser so I won't be able to post a photo of my homemade diffuser. OT the 9092 are the years I arrived and departed Guam assigned to Naval Security Group Department.

Super easy to do!
Buy a SSC P4 emitter.....$13.00
Mcr20 from the SHOPPE.....$18-20.00
Less than $35.00 to change this into a #WAYYYY BETTER LIGHT!!
Just take apart the head (probably the hardest part) Unsolder and pull the old LUX 3 emitter, Install and resolder the new SSC P4 emiitter. Next take out the old optic, there is a small black plastic ring that needs to get cut, I think cut about 1/4- 3/8" out and push together and install under reflector to provide some spacing between the LED and reflector. Drop in the new reflector, reasemble and ENJOY!
Any more questions....let me know!

As to the soft drink cap diffuser is it solid white?

I used a poland spring water cap it fits tight and is translucent.
Light goes out in a soft flood and around the edge like a lantern.
Definately worth a bottle of water.

Definately worth a bottle of water.[/QUOTE ] The cap I used is all white except for some small red lettering on top. What size water cap did you use? I'll give that a try. Thanks for that info.

Diffuser for Surefire E series.....a mini mag accessory kit will fit over the bezel of an E series and comes with clear, red and blue lenses. Simply "frost" the clear lens with steel wool and you are in business.

Hi neen166!

I also have the kooter P1D CE! And would like to get a tailguard for the tailcap!

See that you have it on yours! Where can I get one??
