One of the best lights I have, bought it from bright guy, great service, reasonable price, but had trouble taking the batteries out. I learned a little trick I'd thought I'd pass along. When you squeeze the two clips to take the battery pack out, have the flashlight aiming downwards, and shake it a little bit. I tried lifting it by the clips and it didn't work that way for me.

Thanks, FlArGreat

I'll try that. Maybe I won't have to use those darn pliers anymore!Regards,

I took the Surge out again tonight for a walk in a nearly park. It lights up a whole field. It really is quite bright. I like this light alot. I haven't found the battery change that hard. Just squeeze the pins, and the battery module comes out. Putting it upside down certainly helps, and making sure that silicon isn't on the pins so you can grip them.

Thanks to the heads-up here, I found a Surge yesterday at a gun show and tried it out. Impressively bright, and they kept the thing to a reasonable-size package. It was brighter than the SureFire M3 next to it, although I'm sure the batteries had been run down on both, so it wasn't a fair comparison. Still, the Surge is very impressive. It was going for $30 at the gun show, an astounding value for the light output, assuming overall quality is good.

Although it's much fatter than the Surefire M4, it's also not as long as the M4, and I bet it's easier to carry.
