I see HERE the D3 Defender can use rechargeables. Can the same battery be used in the M3?
If not, why not?

What this means is the D3 can be converted with the addition of the A20 Body Extending Adapter to hold the B65 NiCad Battery Stick. It powers the P60 or P61 Lamp Assmblies that two SF123A SureFire use.

The B65 NiCad will not power the P90 or P91 Lamp Assemblies used by three SF123A SureFire models such as the D3.

It is possible to attach the A20 Adapter to an M3. However, there are no Lamp Assemblies designed to work in the M3 Shock Isolated Bezel powered by the B65 NiCad.

The A20 can be used to convert the 9P & D3 three SF123A SureFires to NiCad Rechargeables powering the P60 or P61 Lamp Assemblies.
It will also convert the C3 & Z3 however the use of the CombatGrip is lost.

I hope this helps?

Respectfully,

Al
