I'm new here and also hot fans of spotlight and flashlight stuff.
May I have some ideas what you guys are looking for when choosing a new spotlight?

I don't have a spot light. But if I were to look for a spot light, i would have the following criteria:

Brightness
Battery Life
Cost
Weather resistant? (water resistant)
Durability

Welcome, Sample!

What is your intended use for this spotlight? Depending on your use, different factors may be more important than others.

Personally, I want a spotlight to be small and bright, and the output clean and white. Add rechargable batteries, long run time, momentary and constant-on switches, reliability, quality construction, accessories/options, and low price, to name a few! (Well, I can dream...)

Hi, FlashFan, Nerd:
Well, you guys use flashlight, spotlight during camping? or other situation? I usually use in camping and found that the run time is short for most of the spotlight. If there is a spotlight, bright enough and run for 2, 3 hours will be great.

For me, I'd probably look at, in priority:

1) Brightness
2) Beam focus
3) Construction/Durability
4) Battery Endurance
5) Cost

I'm the kind'a nut that expects the beam to tight-rope on a laser-beam to a couple of miles on a 2Mil CP spotlight. Depends what you want to get out of the light, really...

If you're looking for a spot that can last 2-3 hours or so, and is reasonably bright, and can still throw a good beam, you might want to check out the Light Cannon...

It's the only thing I can think of that fits those 3 criteria, and it lasts for about 2.5 hours, at least in my experience, with 8 C cells. I just use recheargeable NiMHs in it, and it's quite bright. Only thing that will give it a knock is price...

I choose the LSI RC-3800 sptolight, 2 Million CP
I test it can shine over 300 meters look like a day. 100W Hyper Halogen lamp produces 3800K, the beam is whither than normal 100W Halogen lamp. Maxa Beam is my dream light, it is the world most powerful hand held searchlight and long lasting,
but too expensive.

Here is a nice one...

A bit pricy at $3250.-, but hey, you get to play with a 7 million CP light...

Damn.... $3250???

At that price, I would've gone for a MaxaBeam at $1800 or a NightHunter... Or if they want to stress the weatherproofness, I still would've gone for a Long Arm at around that same price...
