Recommend Compact Binoculars?

when i first read that post i went on line only to find that they were out of stock. I looked at my local walmart and they were full priced at $29.99. I did try them out at the store and from that limited review seemed very nice. i will most likely go back to the store and buy a pair before the stores sell out.

+1 for Nikons. All my last ones were Nikons, which were all great buys.

As compact one I have are the ProStaff 10x25. Rubber coating, watertight. But they're ~$140. Very similar are the Travelite series. Not watertight, but look quite sturdy otherwise. ~$80 for the 10x25, for instance on amazon.com.

The Nikon Travelite series is terrific, but it's a little north of the budget the OP mentioned. They come in 8x, 9x and 10x. I've had the best luck with the 9x.
