I have not been following the various trends but I would like to try a new small light for my EDC when we go for night walks.

I am looking for a light that takes the 18350/18390 battery. (prefer the protected batteries)
Has a throw of about 300+ meters/yards. (single LED, smooth reflector)
800-1000 lumens
Neutral white LED (4000-4500K) this is most important
3 brightnes settings
Value for money. (I may purchase two, one for my wife)
Not fussed about the brand but it should be easy to find and purchase

Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

You would do well to consider the JetBeam RRT01 Raptor. The light accepts 18350, 18500, and 18650 cells. (You must order the $10 optional barrel extender to use the 18500 and/or 18650 cells - the extender kit is well worth it). It's available in neutral white (with a Nichia 219C emitter), and outputs 950 lumens at the highest setting.

Thank you for that, yes this is close to the mark...... It reminds me of my Sunwayman V11R with two extender tubes slightly bored out to fit the 17500 and 17670......the V11R is only 500 lumens and the throw is minimal due to the OP reflector.

A friend suggested this one even though it is 18650, its about the same size as some of the 18350's..... Lumintop EDC 18 with Nichia. what do you think of this one.....

what do you think of this one
I vote No because it uses 3 LEDs, I do not think it will throw farther than your V11R. It will just spread a much wider beam, good for close range, not to see far.

For throw, from small lights with a narrow head diameter, Avoid lights with more than One LED

the V11R is only 500 lumens and the throw is minimal
Here is the latest and greatest mini but mighty, small in the pocket with a great throwy beam for the trail:

The New Zebralight SC65c Hi
Small, durable, lightweight walking light.
That wont get hot and wont waste batteries
lighting up unnecessarily wide areas.

I agree with bykfixer for Lumens Factory's SP-6M. This is very new model and I have several ones. More budget friendly option would be Convoy's S2+. It's originally for 18650 battery but they serve short tube for 18350 as well.

This includes 18350 battery and you can choose color temperature. I would recommend 12 groups, but 4 modes is also usable.

If you would like another body color, you can purchase S2+ (for 18650) and short tube for 18350 through AliExpress or their original website

I just picked up the Nitecore MT1C Pro and I'm thrilled with it! It is an amazing little pocket thrower with a wonderfully simple interface and an appealing design.
