I am after some cheap 1xAA Led Headlamps, need to be Cheap, Good Run Time, Regulated but do not need to be super bright, these are for night time walks with the dogs and family.

I looked at a few on DX but I assume most are just 3xAAA and no regulation, but then again maybe no regulation is a good thing as it won't end abruptly.

Recommendations ladies and gentle folk thank you :D

Edit the 1xAA is I assume it will be lighter than 3xAAA.

Hmmm maybe in the wrong section :candle:

Interesting, the only 1xAA headlamp I've ever seen is the zebralight, but its a bit pricy. Maybe you just need a small 1xaa light with a clip and then you can attach it to a hat or something.

the only 1AA headlamp I have ever seen is a rayovac one and I am not sure if you would consider it *cheap* or not as it is not available in stores now. I would probably have you consider 2AA or 3-4AA instead and get a luxeon at least for the throw needed for walking.

Depends on what you mean by cheap.

The Rayovac 1AA headlamp might work but I don't know if they are available in the UK.

Well maybe 3xAAA is the answer I just need good runtimes, this is for woodland walks.

EDIT:
I need 3 of them so the cheaper the better, $15 is about all I need to spend on each one.

How bright? If it's decently dark and you don't need high brightness, a clip on a Fenix E01 might work just fine. I'm sure you'll have a handheld if you need a burst of a high mode :candle:

Regulation doesn't mean output will just end. Many lights have a "moon mode" with lower output.

I know this headlamp from DX, sku.8400, is 3 AA battery powered but it has a battery pack so it should be decently balanced.

Wally world, (Walmart) in my area S. E. Pa. has the Rayovac's clearanced for $9.00 ea still appear to have quite a few. I imagine other locations may have them as well.

Wally World or Wallmart is no good in the UK unfortunately :candle:
Very dark walks alot of the tracks are covered by the tree line and high shrubs/bushes.

Of course we also have a Regalight WT1 Q5 WC, Surefire 6P with Q5 Dereelight drop-in, P3DCE Q5 WG and an NDI, oh and the Liteflux LF2 om strobe on the dogs collar.

But these are a bit on the excessive side sometimes, even my Fenix E01 is nice and bright in the middle of a forest :D

Now I remembered what I left out of my shopping list:
http://www.batteryjunction.com/niizehemihon.html

And its shipped too. Thats just too efficient.

Anyway, these are pretty good. Your P3D will fit it nicely. Not sure about your other lights though.

With small AAA torches attached, people think that its so mission impossible, although I thought they had some sort of ear clip light. Thats what I'm trying to do with my E01. I've got a these cheap ear clip things from hands free mobile phone kits bought at the markets and I'm trying to attach the E01 to the ear clip. Unfortunately they still fall off the ear but I'll keep trying.
