I'd like to add a red flashlight to my collection.

I'm guessing as far as red lights go, excluding the really expensive red arc ls, the red lightwave 2000 should be the brightest. does anyone have any other ideas?

This is sort of nice.
I have had it over 2 years with no problems....till I took it apart last month trying to build a clone. I plan on replacing it. NOT waterproof however.

SKYLITE

Energy Efficient-- up to 320 hours at the lowest setting, 12+ hours at the brightest, from one 9 volt Alkaline battery.

Wolfman,
I have one like that I got for my astronomy hobby. Great light & really bright. I got mine from one of the online telescope stores with about $8 knocked off because there was no battery. I figured I could get a 9V battery somwhere for less than $8.

Do either of you know how it compares to the red lightwave 2000? How many LEDs does it have?

I've never seen the LW 2000, but the Rigel is very bright on high & is fully adjustable. It has 2 LED's. TX

I got mine @ www.scopetronix.com , but that was awhile back and an "until they're gone" item. But they do carry it with 2 red led's for $22.95 + shipping. They also have a PR base 3 red LED lamp for $12.95 which didn't sound too bad. TX

hey aragorn, have any experience with the INSANELY bright Red Luxeons? if so, how do you like 'em? (off the subject, I really like your signature animations, the one with the two pac-dudes competing for who has the biggest weapon!!! how do you make them, i would like to also.) Also, who manufactures those LRI reds? is it kingbright or something

Yea Aragorn, that's already pretty obvious (you CAN make upgraded flashlights). Just direct someone to your mods at quickbeam's site to prove it. The one I think is the best is your otterbox. I would think your brightest is the Tripple-Luxeon?
