Guys, got some of the Redilast 3100 mAh (18650's) from Tactical_HID yesterday for my TM11.

Will they work and is there anything I need to do to make them work. I tried them real quick and got nothing
and since I'm scared to screw the light up, I took'em out.

I fried a light once with flat tops and I don't want to do that again.
Talked to Jason at Tactical and he said that they should work so, I'd like to hear from
people that have tried this combo...

Thanks

George

I'm using Callie's Kustoms 3100 mAh 18650s in my TM11 with no problems. The Callie's Kustoms use the same Panasonic 18650 cell as the Redilast, but the labeling is different. I believe the Callie's Kustoms are just a tiny bit shorter than the Redilast, but I see no reason that the Redilast won't work. Just make sure they are all charged and that the body and head are fully tightened. I noticed this morning that I can prevent the light from coming on by loosening the body just a bit.

Just in case I don't get it to work. Anyone else got 3100's that are up to specs but with a bigger button?

I'm scared to over tighten the light and also, I don't want something that MAY not work in an emergency because of a possible battery issue.

Damn! DIdn't mean to post triplicates n' stuff but it was so slow, I didn't know it had posted it....l

Well, that didn't work and I tightened it a lot, don't dare doing more and still nothing.

So, what are my options?

Thanks

George

Do you have a solder gun? You can put a small solder ball on the positive tip to make better contact. You can also fold aluminum foil into a small sheet and drop it to the bottom of the tube to make the battery sit higher up.

Man, the foil option is a bit ghetto, no?

I can put some solder but again, ghetto and I'd be scared to ruin these $20 batteries.

Any other options like other batteries with a more pronounced button?

How about all this stuff on ebay? Any of them legit or good?
Ebay Item 280763177856
Ebay Item 350511799829

Some of them are listed as being protected.

I must be honest, I kinda like my ultrafire batteries I got years ago from DX or wherever
and I have some AW's

I like my new light but wanted some more batteries for it and with this little powerhouse, I was gonna get some really high powered batteries
and I really don't want to solder or foil 🙁

Got any pics or info on those mohanjude?
Particularly of the positive side of the batteries..

According to post#49 here, Redilast 3100mAh's should work. I would suggest re-checking everything on the light, batteries are fully charged and inserted correctly (positive toward the head) and nothing is wrong with the battery compartment. You can also try powering it up with only one battery inserted (I would go for a daily low mode and avoid turbo like this). If you don't find anything wrong, you may have gotten a defective light.

I'll try again but the light works fine with a mix of ultrafire's and AW's with regular button top

I'm using the Redilast 3100s in the TM11 with no problems. The first TM11 I got was one of the problem ones and it didn't matter which batteries I used it still acted flaky. But the replacement TM11 does fine and I purchased the Redilast 3100s specifically for it (they pretty much live in the TM11). I realize that probably doesn't help much to solve the problem, but just passing along my experiences with the TM11/Redilast 3100 combo.

You might try cleaning the contact points on the TM11 and see what happens, just as one suggestion (couldn't hurt).

Thanks. From what I understand, the one I got (from someone here on CPF) had been back to the dealer for replacement or something.
What I'm curious about is why others have no problem (story of my life btw) and I do and also, say it's the contact surface, should
that not be a problem with the regular batteries too?

Thanks

Yeah, I realize the "clean the contacts" suggestion is a bit of a long shot, but certainly wouldn't hurt to do if it hasn't been done. I'm not sure if that might affect some batteries and not others (that is, if the contact areas were dirty). I know that both of mine needed some cleaning based on the black stuff that came off when I cleaned them.

So the TM11 you bought was the one the seller was sent as a replacement for a bad one? I'd think there would be no problem with it if that were the case. I don't think I've heard of anyone sending in a bad one and getting another bad one, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. I'm assuming the Redilast 3100s got a fresh charge by you when you got them. I dunno -- it's hard to know what to suggest.

+1
Hope that helps...

Well, I just bought the batteries so I assumed they had a charge on them but I guess I should check that too and yeah, I could have a light that's not
good for some reason. On mine, the strobe changes frequency. Is that normal or is this one of the bad ones?

Thanks guys

That's normal for the strobe. But do give your batteries a full fresh charge and see if that does the trick. Who knows? That might be it.
