I just got the Regal WT1 from Regal

I first heard about the WT1 from CPF Market Place. Sales promotion, CPF's users additional OP reflector and a "2 stage reverse clicky switch". $85USD (include Smooth, OP reflector, 2 stage reverse clicky switch.

From Regal Lights Website.

1. Cree 7090 XR-E WC Q5 LED at 220 lumens.
2. Step down constant current driver, High efficiency with dual mode DC-DC regulator (PWM / PFM),working voltage is 2.7V to 8.4V. Replace battery when the light is too dim.
3. Supports three sizes battery, one 18650 Li-ion battery, two pcs CR123A or RCR123A battery.
4¡¢Long runtime for high output.use a 18650 for 4 hours£»use two CR123A for 3.5 hours
5. Durable Type III hard anodized finish. Aircraft aluminum T7075.
6. Water proof to 5m/15ft.
7. Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating.
8. Tactical clicky switch
9. Two stage module:focusing-->focus
10. Length 154mm, Head diameter:36mm, Weight: 125g (battery excluded)
11. Anti-falling ring to make it safer to put on desk or table.
12. Accessories: Instructions, three pcs O-ring, one pcs black and one pcs glow press button cap. Includes a holster
13.upgraded accessory:2 stage reverse clicky switch
two stage output:
i.High output: 220 Lumens for 3.5 hours
ii.Low output: 60 Lumens for 8 hours

Fit is excellent.

The Type III Hard Anodize has a very slight mis-match of color.

The WT1 has some machining marks.

Uses a Forward Clickie. Action of the switch is very good.

The o-rings came lubed.

The holster is not made for heavy use. Cheaply made.

The Q5 tint is very white. It has the usual rings using the SMO Reflector but it does not bother me. I will use this Reflector.

These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using AW's Protected 18650 and and AW's Protected RCR123 which were fully charged.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I figured before I took the beam shots I thought that the Dereelight DBS XRE-E Q4 with 3 Way Switch SMO was going to be the winner. I think it's due to the Reflector it is using. It is very deep and large.

The Regal WT1 Q5 Cree is not a bad light for the introductory price of $85.00 shipped. Comes with a Forward Clickie. Type III Hard Anodize.

The only drawback is the holster.

Thanks for another great review & pics, Ernie. The price does seem pretty reasonable---I'd like to see a little downward price pressure about now on some of the other LED throwers---LP, Tiablo, Deerelight, etc. I think they've gotten a bit silly, which seems to be borne out by the fairly substantial price cuts some of them are taking to sell a short time later on B/S/T.

Ernie, Great review as always. Looking at the WT1 it seems to be more in the size class of the LP M1 or Dereelight CL1H(especially the reflector size). Is that the way you see it or is it somewhere in between?

Thanks for the review Ernie, great pics as always. :twothumbs

Certainly seems to be a reasonable value for the money, looking forward to mine arriving.

I recognize that holster - DX/Kai were selling what appears to be the same one a few months ago. I picked one up and was carrying my Tiablo A8 in it for a while, but I never liked it - seems too flimsy. I currently use the Stallion nylon half-hoster that battery junction sells for the Tiablo/MRV (also fits DBS).

Finding a decent holster is tricky for these lights. I know you are using the Rip-Offs holster for your other thrower lights, how do you find it? So far I haven't been lucky in finding a source of Rip-Offs that ships cheaply to Canada.

selfbuilt,

The Ripoffs CO-188 is large for the Regal WT1.

The flap velcro only holds about 1". The length of the velcro is 2 3/4".

The light will stay in. The flap can be moved up to make more contact area on the velcro but then you have more of a gap between the flap and the Bezel.
