Has anyone seen or done a direct comparison of the current regulated LED flashlights out right now? (Mod or Manufactured)

I would really like my next "big" LED to have this feature or technology. The only one I have that does this is an ARC AAA.

Guess I should wait and see what CMG is going to come out with. I could go with an ARC LS second, but I am not handy enough to fix any technical problems that it may have (cosmetic no problem)! Although, most of the posts on the 2nd's have only been minor cosmetic colors and a few 123 fitting issues.

I didn't see any sort of "Showdown" on any of the usual comparision sites.

Thanks for any input,

David

Sorry about that... I'd rather wait until I had an "Arc-LS 1st" before I started any comparisons or published a full evaluation of the product. Doing anything otherwise would be unfair to Peter Gransee and to those countless millions who use my website and base their buying decisions on what I write.

I hate to say it but I have been using my "Opalec NewBeam" Mag more then ever now. For other people the size and feel of the 2 AA mag is very comfortable and the truly regulated light output is very nice, and you can't beat 2 AA batteries, NiMH or alkaline, both are the SAME brightness. I even ran 2 3v AA (6v) cells in there, and you guessed it, still the same output, very nice. I should add I added the tailcap switch to complete the transformation. If you put lithium AA's in it, it would make a great emergency light, very reliable.
