I finally got a hold of a Surefire C2, and boy is it built like a tank.

I would like to get a P60-style drop-in for this light that's highly reliable and throws a good distance. I already have Malkoff M61, M61NL and M61LL drop-ins for a G2Z, 6P and 9P, respectively, and a Thrunite XML drop-on for a Z2. (Yeah, I guess I'm a Malkoff junkie.)

Any recommendations, Malkoff or otherwise, would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Ira

What you need;

- Custom Z44 compatible head with better heatsinking, such as FiveMega's beefy or Cryos heads
- vinhnguyen54's XR-E R2 EZ900 drop-in driven at 1.5 or 2A
- Copper tape

Getting the parts will end up costing more than getting some other lights, but you'll end up with something that will throw a tight beam out to 300 meters and beyond.

For max throw, you could buy a solarforce masterpice pro-1 head. Throws like crazy, and it's really well made. I have used it to light up some cabins at 650 meters with the pro-1. I'ts a xr-e led in a huge, smooth reflector. You get a ringy beampattern on a white wall, but with super impressive throw. I have banged mine around for years with no issues.
