Remaining Surefire Titans in stock at LAPG

It's $499!!! Each!!! How many people here can afford that!

Really nice light. Very tempting. Would mean not paying bills for a while if I get this.

Dang it! As soon as I saw this, I tried to order about 6 or 7 but they were out of stock:banghead:

Oh well. Nice try anyway.

Thanks for the heads up. I was on my way out the house earlier and decided I better place the order first. I'm really glad I did.:)

i think i would rather go for the aluminum version

Congrats to all those who scored a Titan - I've gotten plenty of leads on new lights around here, so I'm happy to give back any chance I get. Plus, I figured the CPF community would be most likely to give these lights a good home!

I was one of the first to read this post and almost bought 2 of them. I debated the pros and cons for about an hour before deciding against it. I even had them in my shopping cart. My reasoning pros and cons were the following.

Pros:

1. Unique 1 of 1000 kind light.
2. I could buy one and sell the other on eBay.
3. There is unlikely to be anymore available.
4. A really cool Surefire.

Cons:

1. Expensive.
2. Prices on eBay have dropped since people are aware of forthcoming aluminum Titan.
3. Runs on CR2 cells.
4. Industry seems to be leaning towards smaller brighter lights with commonly available cells. The Titans brightness to size ratio will soon be if not already eclipsed by much less expensive lights.

Thats my story and I am sticking to it. After clearing my shopping cart I went to the movies and watched 21. Upon returning home I checked and sure enough they were already sold out. Thanks to everyone who bought one for removing the temptation.

I had to stay over at work yesterday & clicked on CPF to see if anything was new. Any other day, I would have been driving home & wouldn't have seen AvidHiker's post in time to snag a Titan.

In life, timing is everything:thumbsup:

Sounds like you'll be perfectly happy with the aluminum version should you decide to get one. It truly is an enormously satisfying UI if you ask me, any light level you need - no more, no less.

IMO, you left out the biggest "pro": TITANIUM construction. Pretty rare in a flashlight these days as it adds a lot of cost because its a lot more difficult to form and machine. I have a love for anything titanium, which was a major factor in why I had to get a Titan. Agreed, it's certainly not the brightest compact light, but I find for most of my needs it has more than enough brightness. Besides, if most of us around here were terribly concerned about our LEDs becoming outdated, I think we'd only be buying easily upgradable lights.
