I didn't want to pry too hard on this thing without having some info first.

Does anyone have any experience removing the driver side plastic cover from the AKOray k-106?

There's a brass-pin protruding from the center of the plastic shield covering the driver. I didn't want to push/pull too hard without checking on here first - maybe someone has done this before and can chime in!

Thanks.

Don't push/pull or mess with the brass part. That's the + contact for the battery. Look around the edge of the plastic part and you should see two "holes" or slots.

Use some needlenose pliers in those slots and turn the plastic disc counterclockwise. In other words unscrew it. The whole thing is a threading plastic washer.

There are pictures on here something of the whole thing disassembled. It may be under K-109 which is the CR123 version (which is what I have). I've taken the whole thing apart before and that's how you do it.

Edit: Here's the thread with pictures for the K-109 and yours should be very similar.
