Replacement bulb for L&M Solo Logic

Hi

Can anyone advise me of the best replacement bulb for my Light & Motion Solo Logic bike light? Light & Motion's user manual insists that we buy an official L&M replacement; not sure why, but it could be something to do with the £12 price tag!

The bulb is a 7.2v 13w G4 halogen capsule bulb. I'm not looking to increase output at the expense of battery life, but I'm sure there must be bulbs out there that give better output at the same power...

Would some manufacturers' bulbs have better power to light than others or do they tend to be pretty standard? For example I have heard the name Welch Allyn mentioned a few times in this respect.

They`re pretty well similar..
so one is not going to be 2x brighter than the other of a similar wattage
you may notice in the links one lamp has a transverse filament
the other has an axial filament ...

OP. If you are using a L&M Solo Logic on the bars then try out a Fenix L2D Q5/R100 on you're helmet. I have 2 of them and one on the lid and it's very good indeed!
