Hi all,
I dropped my

Sunwayman V11R

and am looking for a replacement. I like the 16340/cr123 batteries and mostly the rear click combined with the dimmer ring.

I've read that the Jetbeam RRT-01 is a nice replacement but I think that the side clip would bother me in my pocket. I was thinking that I could drill out the rivet then grind them down so they don't catch but that seems silly.

Maybe I can repair my V11r? I haven't had time to really look into it but I did multi-meter the tail cap and it rings out fine. When I dropped it it landed on a wood floor on the nose. It was only off an end table but it hit solid. Maybe the tail spring compressed but it seems like it would flicker if it were just loose.

Anywats
Thanks
Mark

the side clip would bother me
dont worry, it is held on by screws, easily removable

sorry your V11r broke.. I do not know of a way to fix those, dropping them breaks something.. a component or a solder joint on the driver maybe.. there are no replacement drivers available

The RRT-01 is a bit bigger, but works the same, rotary dial and tailswitch. Not as likely to break when dropped...

if you need a drop proof light, Zebralight holds that title

Thanks Jon, that sounds great! It looks like the RRT-01 is a few years old and hard to find. Do you know if ledsupermall.com looks like a decent store?

Thanks

What put ledsupermall on your radar?

I googled for info and got this:
"This company's practices are deeply concerning, from selling fake products to engaging in unethical return procedures. I strongly advise against purchasing from this seller."

illumn is a trusted vendor in USA
aliex offers the lowest price
I dont worry when I buy from Aliex.. it is not a scam site

Thanks again Jon,
I wasn't sure if it's allowed to mention stores in here. Much appreciated for helping me avoid a bad shop.
Alie says it will get here (California) by December 11 - 20 but when I bought from there before it took a heckofalongtime. And I don't think they include the extension tubes (though I doubt that I'll ever use them) and they're $30 cheaper. And I don't know if I trust Alie for authentic products.

Plus Illumn is the next town over and it's nice to support the local guys.

Thanks again much
Mark

illmn is good people,
I dont think the ones on Aliex are fake.
I hope you enjoy the light, wherever you choose to get one

Does anyone know the difference between the V10r and the V11r? Thanks.
different exterior machine work.. both discontinued.

The V10r was also offered in Titanium and was heavily customised with tritiums and body machine work by Hanko in the past:

Thank you for that info. Yes, I have both the V10r and the V10a. Great flashlights. Looks like the V11r has the nice checkering on the body. Do you know if there's any difference in the output between the V10r and the V11r?

I still use my V11R, so haven't looked for replacements.
I like the forward clicky, the control ring is OK - it works, but seems to move when in the pocket, so you never know where it is when you pull it out. They also made an adapter ring for AA-size cells. I modded mine for a Nichia 219A for high CRI.

There are several reviews on CPF from 2012, but most photos are no longer available. I may have saved some of the review photos.

fixable with new grease under the control ring

Nyogel 760G ... which is a nice smooth consistency

or Nyogel 767A which is extra tacky and will hold the ring wherever you leave it, I put some on the control ring face of this light:

I've been using Nyogel 767A under the ring, and just replaced it last month. It still seems prone to moving, but I may also be fiddling with it in the pocket. Or just forgetting where I set it last.

Also, the square part of the XM-L is 5mm x 5mm and XP-G is 3.45mm.

edit: that's the whole outer square, not the inner die.

if you dont have the original boxes, you may be able to tell by looking at these photos and staring into the reflector:

Whatever your lights have in them, what made you ask about output?
Thank you for those photos. Very helpful. Looks like the V10r has the Cree XM-L and the V10-A has the XP-G.

I asked about the output because I was wondering if the V11r had an increased output from the V10r. Any further info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
