I would be more than happy to take any FAQs that you can think of could be added to my web site.

Anyone that wants to document their mod or build that includes items from the shoppe are also being solicited.

If your mod gets posted, a special thank you gift will be offered to those whos submissions get published on theledguy web site.

Please post any FAQs in either request format or a complete solution in the form like:

Q: Put the question here....

A: Put the answer here...

When I get time I will try to get them added to the web site.

Thanks in advance.

Wayne

Not yet. I have not ordered any Lamberians HDs for a module build. That is the plan for future modules to use only HDs since that produces a better beam.

The only modules in HDs are the special request R2 runs I've been taking requests for.

Thanks for that info.
I like the LD MMX+ so well that I was considering getting a spare module-in case something happens to the one I have.

You have to be kidding me people !!!

NOONE has ANY questions? Or questions that they think need to be on Wayne's new site?

We want to expand the FAQ page to cover just about any question that people might ask, especially the newbies.

Help us and the less experienced members, by posting questions to be added to the FAQ page here please.

Thanks for your contributions.

Ok, I'm a "less experienced member" (read new). I haven't got to the point where I am willing to actually attempt a mod myself.

I'll make my suggestions. Maybe they are stupid questions, or have already been answered, or are so basic they are common knowledge.

1. From a Newbie point, Step by Step pics are really nice.
(Some of us are visual learners ). What Would be nice would be to show visually all the required steps to put a module together. Plus show side by side any variations that have been done. (say a PM6 module with a Downboy vs Badboy)
plus is there any differences to consider when using different color LEDs (green, red, amber, yellow, cyan, blue, white)

2. Also it would be nice to know what parts will go together and what donor body they would fit into.
(Take the E-Sinks, I have seen threads about them, but don't know what they fit. Do they fit in the McLux, PM6, a surefire, or something else ? )

3. Show the diminsions along with the parts. Those of us that havn't done any modding don't really know how big a part really is when looking at a part.

Doesn't relate to questions / Faq's but it would be nice to have all (from the buyers point)the pieces of the modules in the same place / page for easy purchase
(Aka think the PM6 mod. have the module, the reflector, the replacement lens, tail / clicky switch all in one location)

Make is as stupid proof as you can, and I'll still find a way misread something.

It's almost 4am, so hope this makes sense and is what you were looking for. If not feel free to edit it out.

Are you still taking requests?

Q) Which heatsink paste/epoxy should I use? What's the difference between AS, AA, AS5, Ceramique?

Q) How much current can the Down, Boy be set to?

Q) Can I parallell two bad boys to get more current through a single LS?
A) Yes, though it might not be worthwhile. Refer to this flux/ampere chart (you might want to add the letters "P", "Q" and "R" to the upper chart?) to see how much light you might gain. Remember also that the cells only can deliver so much current.

Q) Is the mclux and mclux turbo waterproof?
A) It hasn't been tested yet. It should be weather resistant, though.

Q) How much current can a madmax deliver from a single AA?
A) There is a graph for this for both -74 and -75 chip, and I think the MM uses 1674.

Q) where can I get UCL lens for the mag, mclux/pr and pelican M6?
A)try www.flashlightlens.com

Nice work, both of you.

d clark,

Step by step assembly help for the PM6, E1, Brinkmann 2AA, and PR Mclux are on the way.
We plan to do Exactly what you suggest. With pics of each step in the mod process.
Your other questions were great also, thanks.

AilSnail,

Great Q and A. I think all of those are good, and will be added to the FAQ page.

Thnaks guys. Keep it up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Q. What gage of wire do you use when assembling the modules ?

Might be answered elsewhere, but would be nice to know what others use.
