REV Victor-World's Longest Throwing LED Light

Massive 16 gauge wires make it "fun" to wire up.

I'm recalling some projects I did with 18ga coarse stranded wire - an outdoor project with 3-up Rebels on MCPCB's and a few projects with LED tape. The outdoor lighting project with the Rebels was re-scoped from 6x to 4x because the wire ultimately ripped the traces off the MCPCB's after a few attempts to resolve what seemed to be a connectivity issue. The LED tape projects went off without a hitch but those came afterward and I had learned to strain-relieve the solder points when positioning the tape prior to installation.

Well my 3 Deft-X are not top dog anymore but still great to have. :santa:

My enthusiast arrived today. Too early to start poking the clouds with it but I can't look anywhere near the spot from 10 yards away. Too durned bright. :duck:

Mine arrived today also.

Going outside in a bit for a shot of TM36, Rev Victor Enthusiast, Deft X edc, Maxa Beam, and Hellfighter 4.

If you hear of someone striking overhead aircraft with a laser like light, that would be me. [emoji56]

I just hope the defx x edc does not look like a key chain light next to thoes other light lol

Well,

This was a quick shot off my iPhone 6. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/05bkc0nvub8mmyu/AABpP03idCIjslnRwjGyVhCka?dl=0

The Victor Enthusiast and Victor edc both are very warm in color temperature. Alex, the Enthusiasts being rated at 1312Kcd does make the edc appear weak, but it's not. My edc is rated at 378Kcd, so the larger light has three times the candela available.

From left to right, the Maxa Beam, the Victor Enthusiast, the Victor edc and the Hellfighter 4.

The Hellfighter 4 washed a lot of light out of the edc since it was 6 inches away. The Hellfighter 4, just throws a massive amount of lumens over a large area that it's not a good candidate for aerial beam shots.

I can see that in order to shoot all of these lights together, I'm going to need to build a jig three or more feet wide to gain some separation.

is it me or does the enthusiast make the maxa beam look not as throwy ? the vector looks more focused and the beam looks brighter. The edc looks week but thats to be expected. out of all of them i still think its the most impressive throw for its size?

Does it seem strange to hold such a small light that has the same throw as a k40vn?

If I had a wide angle lens, you'd see the Maxa Beam's beam stayed very focused and small in diameter.

The Enthusiast beam at about mid point narrows down, then widens to what appears to be 4 or 5 diameters of the MB.

The edc X is a pocket white light laser. Operating on a single 18650 or two RCR123 cells it has a special place in lighting.

I have to see if I can get down to the VDOT Workers Memorial as there is a building 1.2km away that I use as my night time target. If a beam hits the building, the light is good to go.

Now does the maxabeam still blow the vector away in throw? Or is it getting closser ?

The Maxa Beam, beam is much sharper in diameter. If I hit the cell tower that is exactly 1488 feet from my shop, the MB beam is a round spot maybe 3-4 feet in diameter. There is almost no light outside the hot spot.

The edc X beam projects a square 8X8-10X10 feet area spot of light at the same tower. There is some color fringing on the edges.

The Enthusiast beam is maybe 6X6 feet but with brightness over the entire area.

Alex, the edc-x "looks" weak compared to these lights but trust me it's not weak at all! On my night walks around my neighbourhood with my dog, anything I want to see I just point and it lights it up. It's a super powerful pocket laser light! I no longer like massive flooders because of this ligut. Anyway, back on topic with the Victor :)

Nevermind.

Could you post some pics of these lights on target at the cell tower please?
