I don't think that Waiven is around any longer. My phone calls go to a voice mail box that's full and no longer accepts messages. The same goes for their email account. The web store isn't active, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say, stick a fork in them, they're done.

The patent will still be valid atleast until the expiration date if not renewed. If they folded, the patent as an asset could be sold to pay debts. The patent holder, issues licenses and royalties paid either on a per piece basis or an unlimited use basis.

Michael hasn't discussed the peculators on his Waiven contract, nor should he. The patent holder after the contract expired, may offer up for sale to users or may increase the cost.

As for projector lights on cars, the bulb sits in a reflector on the ones I've looked at, I'm sure there are a few different ways to do the same thing without encroaching on someone else's patent. That's what patent attorneys make their money doing.
