I'm thinking about buying a RGM watch and I would like opinions.

What should I expect to pay for a used one?

Thanks!

I can see that a few people have looked at this thread. Maybe none of you are familiar with RGM watches. I think it's more likely that some of you are aware of RGM, but just don't own one. I think they only make about 300 per year.

Here are some links so you can see what I'm talking about.

RGM 150P with bracelet. This is the one I'm thinking about buying.

RGM 151P. I like that this one is available with a date.

They turn up on used on www.timezone.com periodically, but you'll have to keep looking. I got an opportunity to tour his shop a couple of years ago (it's in an old bank building...saved installing a safe) and it's very impressive. They do a lot of high-end repair/custom work in addition to making the RGM line.

I was fascinated by the old, hand-operated "rose engine" they use to to the engraving of the "cotes de geneve" on the dial and bridges. It's sort of a leather belt driven analog computer that is "programmed" with multiple complex cams in a cassette.

Cheers,
Bob
