RIP Bullzeyebill

BullzeyeBill was a good forum member, moderator and man indeed. He once offered to fix a light for me if I sent it to him. Regrettably, I never did for no other reason than I was being lazy. He is sorely missed. God bless him!

I haven't had any direct interactions with BullzeyeBill but he struck me as a knowledgeable and straight-up guy. He will be missed here, and his spirit lives on in this forum.

It was obvious that BullzeyeBill cared so much about the integrity and quality of candlepowerforums. When I first joined, it was clear he expected me to toe the line regarding behavior and content. Later when he could see I was ok, that scrutiny diminished. I remember the couple of times when he commented on a post of mine. It was a good feeling indeed when he affirmed something I had said. Very admirable individual.

Hi there. BullzeyeBill aka Bill Rees was my dad. I was missing him the other day and knew I would find treasures of his words here at Candle Power Forums.

Thank you for your kind sentiments about him, he was a good man. He loved this forum and talked about it all the time. Even when he could barely see or hear he was reading what he could.

Again, thank you. 💗
Hello there RP, thank you for joining & posting on this.

Bill was a CPF friend of mine; we were invited to become CPF staff members back at the same time; ~2009 I think - so we were basically the same 'class members'. We had occasional correspondence, although he was more economical with words than I. ;-)

I had a high-end Surefire U2 that did not accept a larger-diameter 18650 cell (that body style was discontinued, so they were relatively rare and desirable). I posted about my particular light on the forums, and Bill kindly offered to swap flashlight bodies so I could utilize that specific option, as he had no need to use 18650 cells in his.

I keep that outstanding flashlight handy in a secure spot in the house, loaded with a high-capacity 18650 cell and still use it on occasion. I always think of Bill when I use that light. :au:

I had the same experience. He jerked the leash a few times at first. The day he asked for my opinion was one of my most treasured moments at CPF. "Who me? Cool".
