So i bought a rominson RC G2 from dx. I had a 14mm P4 and a 700ma output board. put in an ultrafire 14500 3.6v,what do you get?

here it is next to my Tk10 on max. The rominson is on the left.

the board is actually 3v input, but for some reason, i put an ALKALINE in there, and it still works, no where near as bright, but...still works.

I plan to buy 1A boards to use with a Q5. This thing outthrows my Tk10!

not sure about run time..but talk about crazy output...

Yeah, this light is built pretty well and makes for some good modding. What 1A driver do you plan on using?

I think the board went into direct drive, that's why it's so bright. It could already be sending around 1 amp(or maybe even more) to the LED with the 14500 battery.

Try direct drive if you want output. Should give you the best performance(with the 14500 of course) but at the shortened life of the LED and pushing the battery.

oops, so its not a product of overdriving the 3v board by just that tiny bit? oh well...

still, its ungodly bright though...

actually this light is flexible, you can use any drop in to fit in the host such as Dereelight module

Yep, with a bit of modification, you can install a Deree pill in a RC-G2.
Actually I made two of these last year,

~One has a Q2 5-mode
~One has a Q5 3SD

The Dereelight beamshot from another post, is the 3SD in my RC-G2:

Left: Solarforce CREE R2 ----------------------------Right: Dereelight Q5 @1.2A

The distance to beamshot is about 2.5 meters
