This runtime plot is for a light that is being called the ARC-N. This is a body made by CPF member "jets22" that uses the head of an ARC AAA and a "N" battery. A Radio Shack "N" size alkalline battery was used for this plot.

Equipment used is a Extech Mdl 401021 Light Adapter into a Radioi Shack 22-805 multimeter with a PC interface that is using ScopeView software (v 1.08),

The vertical axis is in mVDC and is equivalent to 1Fc @ 1Ft per 1mVDC. The horizontal axis is 30 minutes per division.

Be aware that your actual battery milage may vary from that indicated by this runtime plot.

The runtime to 50% max brightness = 4hr 40min

For the lack of a better name, it was decided that this light would be called the ARC-N to honor the light source!

When I received mine in the mail yesterday, I imediately tried stuffing a Radio Shack "N" cell down the front of the light with NO sucess! Finally figured out that the back screwed off and the battery went in the back. Brand new, out of it's wrapping, the seam between the body and the tail cap cannot be seen! Here it is all layed out:

Here is a compairison of the ARC-N (top) vs ARC AAAA (middle) vs ARC AAA (bottom)!

Here is a brightness compairson between an ARC-N, an ARC AAA and an ARC AAAA:

ARC-N 19.0Fc @ 1Ft
ARC-AAA 19.4Fc @ 1Ft
ARC-AAAA 17.0Fc @ 1Ft

To measure the brightness the same ARC-AAA head was used in all three battery tubes.

I'm kinda curious about the possibility of a nimh n cell in that arc N light.
My 500mah cells from www.battlepack.com are strong enough to push both my ledlenser v2 turbo 3xN cell 1 watt lights to 1.35 amps. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
They somehow, have survived thus far. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

this is very much longer than I expected it to run on 1 x N-Cell !!!
great job, Brock and Roy !

slightly off topic:
Bernhard, my Lambda Nano Led runs almost three times as long on a NiMH cell than on an alkaline.
If you need any, mail me for a source in Germany.

Peter, thanx for the offer, but I do never use rechargables /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif
